oh look second time I get a party of raging kids report me for farming the jungle. hurrah for the reporting system! ID 1054214055
happy thanksgiving 2014, sorry but ur muted !

Comms Ban report button needs to be removed from the game. People should learn to press the in-game mute button instead. I mean come on, what the fuck do they all do when they hear somebody say something they don't like in real life? You can't just walk up and mute somebody by either forcing them physically or bullying them verbally. You'd get arrested. Valve is promoting bullying.

You need to be reported several times to get mute. So you got reported in several games.

You are wrong. The mute/LPQ is not there only to protect players from trolls/flamers. It is also there to punish. Bullying? Who is bullying who exactly? True, the system IS sadly automated, and that sucks. On the other hand, we can't let trolls and flamers run around free. Every society/community, be it IRL, or digital has rules. When you choose to become a part of that society/community, you also choose to abide by these rules. If you don't, you get punished. That said, I undesrtand that the system needs a heavy revision, and some kind of supervision. However saying we do not need it at all is simply idiotic.

In other words, just as you basicaly say "Mute them and deal with it.", I say "Enjoy your punishment and deal with it.".

          No personal attack intended.

Firstly, lets not bundle LPQ and COMM BAN in the same bag please. Because they are obviously two different subjects. No one is saying that if you feed, abandon, abuse spells, or troll your team that you shouldn't be punished. I agree with Valve's current LPQ policy. It's the COMM BAN policy that I have an issue with.

Now back to muting... Rules. Interesting that you bring that up, now who enforces these rules? The said Trolls? Where is the oversight? Who checks that the people DOING the reporting, aren't really trolls themselves?? Currently, Valve is using an Honor system to persecute alleged flamers with zero evidence.

Furthermore, I respect the fact that you think people deserve to be punished for a bad attitude in an online game. But, If indeed it is a mature game for people who are MATURE enough to handle MATURE CONTENT. Well then they should be mature enough to hit the MUTE BUTTON, and forget anything ever happened. That's what I do when I get rage-pinged or yelled at on the mic, and it solves all problems. I forget that person was ever bothering me, and can go back to focusing on farming and winning the game.

Once again MUTE IS THERE IF YOU ARE BEING HARASSED. It prevents communication trolling in both directions!!!!
What Valve is doing is promoting more trolling and bullying with this automated, report whomever you don't like, system.

WHY IS IT WHEN SOMEONE IS THE VICTIM OF PING AND MIC ABUSE, THEY ARE FORCED TO SUFFER THIS INJUSTICE?

Perhaps there's an underlying level of sadomasochistic romance involved here. In your own words: "Enjoy your punishment and deal with it." Seems a bit harsh don't you think? Especially when its being forced unjustly and without provocation. This kind of rhetoric reminds of authoritarian regimes like North Korea. They just love to punish people. I'm pretty sure Valve is still an American company, where we have something called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Agreed 100%. Punishment in a video game for having a bad attitude is an oxymoron in itself, its about time the dev's admit defeat in this silly exercise of automated injustice.

I see no reason as to why you would be muted.

As for me, I am playing the game since the beta, and I used to play almost 8 games per day. Around 2 months ago I stopped playing the game almost entirely. The highest mmr I had reached was ~2.5k with not a lot of ranked games.

I was muted a lot at the very first month of the mute system, where everyone had infinite reports, and there was no algorithm. As far as I can remember most of my LPQ penalties had to do with disconnects.

                        How is that relevant?

i actually havent minded LPQ at all, queues are faster than ranked and i kick ass. It's relevant because you're inability to comprehend what goes on in the game at higher mmr's because "i'm the best!" attitude flares up and everyone gets stuck up on it. Unfortunately, you're just a noob that doesn't really know dota at all, you've played for less then a few years.

How is my attitude "I'm the best" lol. And since I am lower mmr, I should actually be a bigger flamer, and I am not. You who is probably 6-7k mmr (because if you are lower than that you should shut your mouth), should not have that attitude. Or are you saying higher mmr = complete assholes?

I used to play wc3 DotA, and it seems your reading comprehension is low, cause I said I haven't played a lot of ranked games.

Would you care to explain yourself or present some evidence to the contrary? Or how about responding to the numerous other points I made in my earlier argument? Or are you gonna resort to pigeonholing one-liners?
