    Dota or Dota ? [ confessional post]

    I've been playing Dota for 8 years or more and i've always had loved it, all of it: pull, stacks, push, pit fights, lore discussions, warding, de-warding, buying stuffs to give valve money , quiting on Garena , Battle.Net , Feeding Hard, Rampaging, making a lot of money, and even being a asshole or being trolled.

    But these days we've been living , these last 3 months are being quite differents. The joy that i used to feel while playing dota kindda disapeared , it can be because i started to play more serious on ranked but i think that this is happening specially because, that atual dota have changed too much in comparision with the old one.

    I had always thought that dota was about "freedom", trying new things, using the hundred hero Pool that we have , things are getting more and more stricked too using the same heroes (meta) and being too harsh to try new things or old things they don't fit the meta u got report and can't play like u would wish to do, i feel that i've been play LoL on Dota we do even havr Quick Cast know (smart cast). Meepo used to be way harder

    I could list the things that strictely are being a piss off to me but it wouldn't work anyway the real purpose of this post is just confess what I've been feeling about my dear doto s2

    at least say if someone u guys think that things are way

    Sadly, you can't escape meta in a competitive environment, unless the game is perfectly balanced. Next balance patch should change it a bit. Also bear this in mind: you get the most freedom in unranked(since people don't care much) and in full-on competitive(since most of our current meta, like Troll or Sniper dominating is used in pubs. Pro games tend to have more diversity). Ranked is the primary place when people like to enforce meta. But even then, if you have friends to play with, you can avoid meta and still have good chances at winning.

      Sounds like you need a break or take it less seriously.

      Dota used to be a game that changed much faster and was less competitive. These days patches are slow and game gets figured out lighting fast, and even when patch hits you see minor changes and that's the meta for half a year or so.

      Sure it's a very established game, and changes shouldn't be foolish, but there is obviously balancing to do and even if it was perfectly balanced it can always use more depth.

        It's not the first time I see someone mentioning this "I get reported because I pick something out of the meta.", but seriously, I've never seen this happen. Do you make this up? The only reason I could think about is picking something like Spectre to support, and if you do that, I understand people reporting you.

          sure didn't made this up, this don't happen a lot, happened to me once and another to my friends ,when had picked Lycan as HC when WE "NEEDED" another one , just because lycan were nerfed , that game itself was Hard , we losed and they sayed report lycan whatever don't know meta noob etc ...
