  • Valve, we need a permanent IP ban for those who make threats

I am sure this has been discussed already by many users. But I am just voicing my opinion anyway. The more we beg valve for it, maybe it'll happen.

Anyway. One guy in a game said he was going to remake accounts to feed. That alone should be enough for a permanent ban. Most of the people are dumb enough to not understand how to change the IP. The issue I have with this guy, is that he went ahead and made real-life threats, like I hope someone comes and rapes you and you all die. The whole team disliked this and abandoned.

Kids play this game for crying out loud. It's absolutely insane that some teenager has to come along and do stuff like this.

If I mute the guy, ban them through steam, I STILL end up getting into a match with them. Why Valve? If I add someone to my ban list, it should prevent myself from queuing up with them again. That's not that hard to ask for. But an IP ban is a little bit more.

Most people get a new IP every ~24 hours and that IP gets allocated to someone else that is now on Valve's banlist. IP bans don't work. They're a last resort when someone in fact has a static IP, but that is quite rare nowadays.

If someone starts raging, report him and mute him. If he makes real life threats you can also report him via Steam.

And no, banlists are not happening an not up for discussion.
