Don't trade untradable items. It's not supported by Steam Community features and rules. If you try to cheat this limitation with Gift system - it's your own risk. From Valve's point of view you gave your items as a gift, without any requirments and rewards. So they will do nothing in your situation. It's highly recommended to avoid any deals, which can't be done in trading window in ONE TRANSACTION.

This is definitly no scam. You clicked on a button with title "Send as Gift". Definition of gift ("regalo" in spanish): a thing given willingly to someone without payment
Don't try to trade items with random people over the internet, thats kinda naive

Even if you gave away a Dragon Hook for some promise, there's nothing that says in the trading policy that can give you it back anymore as of March 9th Update.
Now the only way you can get your items back is by actually getting hacked.

Nope if you get hacked you won't get your items back anymore.

It is your responsibility to lock your account when you get hacked. (You can lock your Steam account by sending yourself an e-mail. If the hacker changes your e-mail Steam still sends an e-mail to your old e-mail.)
When your account is locked noone can access your account and any trade the hacker did is cancelled (due to the trade hold mechanism).
From here you can recover your Steam account by supplying information only you should know.

Steam Support no longer restores item that were lost through trade or market transactions. This includes the case when you are hacked.

You would be right if the hijacker would be deleting your accounts. Steam Support would restore those items. But most hijackers hijack for monetary gain.
