  • DC Abandon Pattern Detection

I know I'm just one player and this will probably not ever be corrected or even considered in my case, but my ISP has been on the fucking blitz as of late, to the point where several customers have started petitions in my area. They caused an hour of 40%+ packet loss, then kill the net unexpectedly, and finally caused the net to blink tonight. Now keep in mind, the net has been working fine, with these sporadically-occurring incidents happening at all hours of the day and night over the past month.

I was assigned one victory in low priority and, thankfully, got out after two games. I love Dota and having to go through that was heartbreaking. I had made a few complaints since then and was told that the issue had been resolved. Now, not 15 minutes before I have posted this, they killed the net long enough for me to abandon and be placed in the low priority pool once again.

I played out all the games I abandoned in to completion (if I could), as a symbol of good faith towards my teammates. I am angry at the fact that, after years of good behavior in the Dota community, this happens because of factors I couldn't control. I also know that I should just suck it up and accept my punishment because I ruined the game for four other members. Is there any possible way I can appeal this?

    There is nothing to appeal.
The game has been abandoned by you (btw., not only affecting 4 other players, but 9), and therefore you are put into LP.
If you continue to play matches while you are aware that there are ongoing issues with your connection, you are of course to blame.
Of course that is not satisfactory, but all you can do is either put more pressure on your ISP, switch your ISP or take a break from playing games where a stable internet connection is required.

Keep smurf accounts or Limited Heroes where you can abandon freely.
