  • Gradual fix for account buyers/account sellers

    Hello guys,

Motivation: I've been climbing ranks in dota in the past years, now in immortal the number of games in which there are account buyers/boosters is quite often. I watch gorgc from time to time and I noticed him complaining about the same issue over and over and that pushed me towards thinking.

Problem: Long time dota veterans getting discouraged from playing by account buying/selling economy, see example:

Solution: At least for higher mmr's seperate the matchmaking pools of people with at least 1000(x) 30(y) min games from the number below that. The number rewards the pool with mostly abuser free matches while increasing effort needed to sell an account since the effort consists of not only boosting but also the computational resources needed to automate the x number of games, the price can be further increased by employing an algorithm that detects abnormal games (cs score, dmg, length etc)

Potential problems to the solution: discouraging new players by putting them against existing boosters more often.
Counterargument 1: old loyal player is much more worth than a new player (80:20)
Counterargument 2: by taking measures to increase the effort needed to sell an account you cut off the supply increasing the price and hopefully discouraging the potential buyers and thus even the new players may also face less account abusers.

Takeaway: please use the solution above or take other measures to increase the effort needed to sell an account, right now there are 200 hours immortal accounts playing with people who have 10k games ruining their experience

Thank you for your attention and I wish you a nice evening
