    A horrible first experince and a flawed reporting system

    Hello.

    I just created an account and played some games. I could not believe how bad the player base is. As a new player I have kept a reasonably low profile. I enter the game with a "Hi, folks, what do you want to play?". The standard reply to that has been nothing. Most players don't communicate at all, at least not for the first 30 minutes of a game. A very strange behavior in a team game for me.

    Out of the very few people who respond to my friendly hello most reply with the most outrageous phrases. I have gotten a whole lot of "Shut the fuck up", "Noob" and even "dont talk to me I will fuck you mother and kill your family". Really? What kind of a game is this that has a majority of players acting like that?

    So there is a report system for communication. I should use that, right? Well. I did that to the first dude that went "Shut the fuck up" and later in the game abused me and the others most of the time. No idea if that lead to anything, but then I had no way to report the following rude persons. I should have needed to have atleast two reports for every game and no I hade just one for the whole week. This system is so not working.

    Then after 15 games or so with this crap I could not even chat anymore. It just says "chat disabled". Tried to find out what that is all about and from what I have googled up it seems like I have gotten a communications ban. That is totally preposterous. I have done nothing but say Hi and ask people what lanes they wanted and been treated with total negligence or rudeness. At some point after nonstop abuse I have replied stuff like "Can you please stop it and just play the game". I have not really understood how this system is setup, but I think it would be proper to atleast show it somewhere that your account has been penalized and for what and it what game. If I have understood the system is also all automatic so there is no supervisory board like in CS that can check up what really happened before someone is punished. I feel like I am the victim of some dudes just ganging up and reporting me for the fun of it and that the really rude and toxic players goes on like nothing has happened because they are the majority.

    In overwatch there is atleast somebody looking at what is going on, why not in Dota?

    Dota does this to players over time, these guys have become so jaded and frustrated with the solo queue experience that they've become stuck.
    I really don't understand why they queue into dota with that kind of spirit.
    But they do, and there's no easy way to get out of it besides, you know, not being like them. If you're persistently trying to play dota as a team in solo queue, maybe, and it's a BIG maybe, you'll get put into a pool of people similar to you. People who communicate with strangers and try to play together. But it's just way too likely 1 out of the 4 will not be cooperative.
    I just can't recommend anyone to go through that, the real game of dota is played with 4 people on your side, who communicate and play to win.
    In my eyes solo queue is not the real dota. Someone else will tell you solo queue is the only real dota. It really just depends on how much you're willing to put up with today.

      I guess you are right, unfortunately I dont know any other players to play with so I guess if this is the way it is I am going to leave this game to the assholes. It is just not fun at all to play like this. And a decent system should separate the unfriendly players from the just new.

        It be must a lot harder than it sounds. Try going to reddit before quitting, people make teams there all the time. Just make sure you tell them you're new.

          I dont think it needs to be that hard. More reports and those that get a lot of reports should be checked out by some board of chosen player that can ban for real. Thank you for that suggestion. I will look at reddit.

            You see, they don't see that as a viable option for a variety of reasons. None of which I really understand. If you can trust valve to do though anything is to move towards less user interaction. They want a world where computers can be your psychologist.

              you still haven't seen shit yet..

              Solo queue is so rigged to a point where 1 week u would have flawless games with people who are nice and communicate politely and have a good streak of winning then comes that week where you get reported for no reason, you end up being muted for no reason.. game starts and some don't pick their heros and get auto randomed and sit in base for like 2mins before moving out.. dc , feeding , rudeness the list just doesn't end.. so i kinda don't understand dota 2 at all.. one day its going to lose its popularity from such things ..
