Is it possible people just randomly report your Steam profile without doing it through the game history of matches played? Does this give you LQP? Is this a bug?

    [ I haven't left any games. ]

I was given my first LPQ since i joined the beta, a few days ago. I didn't do anything special and was playing normally like I used to. Just lost a few times, and even though I wasn't the one who lost us the game, someone probably still reported me :/

This report system is retarded. Our carry abandons mid-game, and I'm the one who gets LP. And I don't even have enough reports to report him.

    It's totally flawed.

I agree...the whole "punishment" idea is ridiculous as it is. It's fairly often that the people who get sent to LP aren't even the ones causing issues.

Considering you can mute chat and voices of players, there really isn't a reason for a unmoderated report system. It doesn't teach players anything, not does it serve any purpose but to make people miserable.

The whole "low priority" system just needs to go away.

        No, it doesn't.
Or else anyone could just abandon any match whenever he wants, "normal" people would need to play with regular abandoners or with people with unstable internet connection.
        No one wants that.

I don't see you suggesting anything.

There absolutely needs to be another way to deal with people who "leave", other than what you are so curtly suggesting.

            CS:GO-like system, why not?
Because players reporting subjectively, not objectively

CS:GO has Overwatch. If someone is reported the replay of the game is sent to a group of players which are chosen randomly and they decided wether or not the player did something wrong or not. It basically takes the automatic report system out of the equation (which I would love). It is a much needed addition to dota.

Regarding LPQ in Dota I can only say: It encourages bad behaviour. I used to be in Low Priority a lot. Once you're in and your reputation score is bad, you will go back to LPQ frequently and there is nothing you can do about it since players will report you for everything, even if you dont do anything wrong according to the rules. You don't have constant wards up -> report, you give first blood to the enemy -> report, you lose mid -> report, you don't tp to them when they get ganked -> report. You get the idea.
In this environment it is SUPER easy to get Low Prio and it's really hard to get out of it.

I recently bit the bullet and managed to get into a range where I didnt get into low prio for over 2 months. With "bit the bullet" I mean always finishing games that are lost from the get go, even keep warding if its 10 minute in and the score is 0-30 cuz one guy fed because someone took his lane, etc.. And it was hard. I'm talking about 50+ really really frustrating games.
Then, after 3 losses in a row I was back in low priority, I don't even know the reason why, my summary said I had 8 reports in the last 25 games. I have to say: I'm just sick of it. Being punished for not breaking the rules is pretty infuriating. I'm quick to lose my temper, I know that but it shouldn't be possible to be punished without an offense.
The automated report system is the biggest flaw Dota has in my opinion since my bracket (mid 3k) and my reputation score keep me in a place where nothing will change (I'm not complaining about the ranked games btw, MMR is fine).

Oh and for full disclosure: My most commited offense I deserve low prio for is afking (only unranked btw). For example: My team instapicks Medusa, Antimage, Spectre and Sniper and then says "support pls". I don't play this game because I know it will be a horrible experience for me being the solo support in this draft. No initiation, no teamfights, just 4 hardcarries. I don't want to play a game that is not enjoyable. Period.
This is not the issue I'm talking about here by the way, I'm talking about the reports you get without an offense.

FYI, I have played more than 3000 games, 90% as support. What you discribe as "bit the bullet" is just my normal way of playing. I continue doing my job even when everything seems locked (we are going to lose or to win) as sometimes, unexpected things happen. For example, I have seen overconfident players throw the game by attacking heroes at the fountain and being all killed, instead of just finishing the last racks or even the ancients.

Obviously, you know the two reasons that lead you to LPQ. You know what to improve.

From what I recall, HON had a similar system, where players would submit reports, and "moderators", aka selected players, would review the replays. I agree with all of your points though.

                      This would be the "fix".
