  • Resolving report abuse by using MMR from Ranked MM

In Dota 2, we have the right to submit a maximum number of 3 reports per week. How if the maximum number commendations per week is changed to be 3 as well? In addition, with the use of mmr as tokens for submission of reports or commendations in ranked MM only.

    1. How the mmr can be used as tokens for submission of reports or commendations?
A: As we aware, mmr is the score of achievements when a player win or lose his ranked matchmakinng game. Therefore, if he win his ranked MM game and gain mmr, then he can either submit a report about any eligible player (teammate or opponent) by using his 5 mmr as the tokens or submit a commendation on any eligible player (teammate or opponent) in order to gain an extra 5 mmr for himself. For losing player, if he lost his ranked MM game and lose his mmr, then he can either submit a report about any eligible player (teammate or opponent) by using his 5 mmr as the tokens or submit a commendation on any eligible player (teammate or opponent) in order to reduce the losing score as much as 5 mmr per commendation (teammates who face a losing situation in his team will face lesser risk in getting false report by other teammates especially when there are many bad arguments).

    2. How many report or commendation can be submitted in a week?
A: A maximum number of 3 reports or commendations shall be set per week in order to avoid abusing by the players. An eligible player can only receive either one report or commendation in each submission by a player, which means if he already received commendation, then he cannot be reported by the same person (vice-versa).

    3. Is it legit to submit a report or commendation in unranked matchmaking game?
A: Obviously, no! Because this is for ranked MM games only, where the real highly performing players are given the better chances to control the report system instead of those who are abusing in submitting reports and commendations. In ranked MM game, if you win, then you gain mmr. If you lose, then you loss mmr. Therefore, players who are winning a game can use the mmr they gain against those who badly misbehaving during the game or stop abusing report by proceeding to submission of commendation, where the increment of mmr due to submission of commendation can be made as an inspiration to the winner. If the players who lost their mmr would like to submit a report by using available mmr as the tokens, then his mmr will be deducted. However, if his mmr is less than 5, then he cannot make any submission of report.

More FAQs will be updated from time to time. If you have any opinion, please reply. Correct me if there is any flaw.

Lost a game does not mean you must report a teammate, am I right? If you want to blame a teammate for not cooperating with you all during the game-play, then why don't submit another commendation to other player (not that reported teammate) in order to lose and gain 0 mmr? You understand what I mean?
If your team has a "spoiler" and you want to report him during the post game, you will need 5 mmr to submit a report on him. If you don't want to lose more than standard mmr due to lost and the report token, then go submit a commendation to any eligible teammate or player to gain the 5 mmr back, which means you lose and gain 0 mmr. Need more example?

Be a good player to commend your opponent(s) or teammate(s) for well-playing game instead of abusing report for blaming teammate(s) for lost reason or etc...
Use the quota of your report wisely!
