It is mind boggling how some people support the mute system

Just because it didn't happen to you, does not make it false.

There was a thread in playdota where bunch of people were talking about how saying "gg" when you won is bad manners. These people do and will report you if you say gg when you win.
Same with playing a bad game or own too much or take a last hit with support or don't buy courier+sentry+obs at start etc. Someone will feel bitter about you and will report you.

There's a big difference between shit talking and hate speech. You are just showing your ignorance.

Mute system is just another attack on freedom of speech. CENSORSHIP IN THE PUREST FORM.

I realize there is abuse in the system, however I doubt there is a single person who reports for seeing the words "gg" or "ggwp". They report because they went 0-30 or played poorly that game, while being taunted via some derogatory statement like "u suk nub" or whatever. OR maybe they said something more than "gg", such as "gg team sucks", or "pwnd. gg".

Explain how DotA 1 became so popular without an automated mute system as to spawn three successors: LoL, HoN, and DotA 2.
We need a player review system like Overwatch for DotA 2. Get real people to judge communication abuse, intentional skill abuse, and intentional feeding.

Just cause X game didn't do anything about Y problem, doesn't mean Z game shouldn't.
And afaik, Dota was a mod(map) in wc3, where you could get banned by harassing other players.

            Csed.chewy,

The IP address you're posting from was recently used to violate the Battle.net Terms of Use Agreement - http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml. The most common causes for this are: connecting to Battle.net with an invalid CD-Key, spamming the chat channels, use of flood or load bots, harassing another user, and/or the use of a third party program(s).
Though I must say that blizzard handles it better.

I the great Lord of badass villains will report you for saying ggwp or gg when the game was clear stomp. So, hence your argument is nulled.

The problem is, the next few games I play, I can report people for just that, get thanks from valve and prove you wrong...

i would also like to point out how dotaliciousgaming (a dota gaming site) handles it in case of flamers.
At the start of every match -> this comes up
Player Racerkid has been muted for flaming , you may unmute him by typing !unmute in the console .

My question to Dota 2 developers is -> wtf cant we have such a simple option implemented , something like
Player Racerkid has been muted , you may unmute him by deselecting ignore icon in the players view panel at the top left of your screen (with icon symbol for newbies to better understand)

I didn't imply that you "couldn't", but that you wouldn't report someone for that reason. Your underlying reason is A. to prove me wrong, or B. because you don't like the guy in some way or another.

That would require consideration and actual thinking as well as planning from Valve. See the problem already?

... but wouldn't be too hard nor a bad thing to implement. Should at least let the player decide if they want to unmute the player for the duration of their match.

haha, im lazy as pig to copy past your comments again. Lets cut the crap and come to the point.

The point is the abuse of the mute system since its automated. What you say doesnt make any darn sense. I read you sentence like 4 times. All it does make my poor lil head spin for no reason.

I totally agree with you but read my previous comment and you will understand why it is not implemented.

True, but now you're talking about something else, not what you originally stated: without an automated mute system, the game will lose players. You still can't explain how DotA 1 became so popular without one.

And afaik, Dota was a mod(map) in wc3, where you could get banned by harassing other players.

AFAIK, Blizzard has people REVIEWING cases manually. They do not have an automated mute / ban system.
