Report this griefing son of a bitch. First he waited 5 minutes for abandoned, then reconnected and trolled hardcore not just with items and cutting trees, but also in team chat (he wasn't really muted). I don't care if he's protesting against the mute system, I don't want such retards ruining my playing experience. I sincerely hope Valve implements low priority queue punishment for communication abuse.

From the behaviour of that OD player, he seems to be a pretty nice guy who would want to help you. But you completely ignore him.
I'm still surprised how most dota players apparently think not asking for help makes them manly or something. It's just dumb.
And yes, I agree that the support for communication abuse was unjustified and that this guy should have just walked to an other lane (although with OD that would have been a very unpleasing experience for him).
When some guy refuses to play with the team in a game that can only be won by team play, then it's probably the best idea to abandon it. This is what I would have done.Last edited by Typhox; 07-05-2013, 03:34 AM.

If it really was communication abuse (by the way the punishment that locks out the feature insinuates, not some asshat's subjective ruling), I get a chat ban so I can't communicate because I didn't communicate?
I think magicmerl and some other guy gave the handy suggestion of being able to withdraw a report by the end of the match because just about everyone uses theirs in the heat of a moment. It just has to work with clowns who trigger-finger and think they're right all the time.

The video the OP posted proves this. Even without saying anything, people still report him because they know that 1) the system is abusable and 2) they're extremely likely to get their reports back by reporting for verbal abuse. The Drow (OP) wasn't verbally abusive, and yet he was reported (and muted) for being 'verbally abusive'. The system is automated and saw that multiple people reported him for verbal abuse because they were pissed he wasn't just going to bow to their whims and do what they say. The current mute system (prior to algorithm changes) is an abuser's tool, not a victim's tool. It's used to threaten and harass since an overwhelming majority of the community knows how abused it is and that almost anyone can get muted almost immediately.

All idiocy aside, is this the kind of way valve wants to welcome people to the game?
Join an easy bot game, pick a hero, walk to lane, get muted.
Who would pay for that? This is financial suicide.

People can only report 3 times a week and only get a new one if a person they reported got muted.

This shows how fucking disasterously awful this mute system is. Banned for laning middle with drow.
So he gets a mute and can't communicate next game? What problem has been solved. Get banned for not talking, now you can't talk.
Fucking retarded.

i can't get if you did that with Drow on purpose or it was a casual game and you just uploaded it. You deserved to be reported in this game if you went and fucked up OD's solo. Also as broken and shitty this Mute system is, you people realise that in Dota you have to communicate so if you don't say nothing you still deserve to be reported? There is nothing more irritating than a guy playing solo a team based game and not saying a word. L2p.

player t comes to forum cries about mute system and its unfair muting of him.
Now fair judges of the planet Earth. What is the reason of player t to becoming a villain (he was formerly fighting for good so he was an hero) ?
My answer -> player x . Now dear Kumori i have a high percentage of suspicion that you must be this player x. Why man, why did you mute player t
ps - my wild immagination. was bored.
And yes, abuse happens.
I'm not denying that.
And anyone abusing the system is at fault, doesn't matter if they became a victim of it before.
You can't justify being a robber just because you got robbed yourself.Last edited by Kumori; 07-04-2013, 06:06 AM.
