  • Increasing the level of games

Hello. I'm probably not the first one to ask this but why if you do good in matchmaking instead of increasing the skill level of opponents it matches you with clearly worse teammates to artificially lower your winrate. I don't consider myself an amazing player but I try and with decent results I'm always in the very high bracket (I know it doesn't mean much but still) I always try to pick for the team and play my role well. It's paying off had a couple win streaks lately with only a couple games lost in between but instead of increasing the skill of opponents it lowers my team.

For example the last 4 games 2 had leavers mid through the game, 1 had a 4 russian stack who started flaming me from the beginning for no real reason and then one proceeded to intentionally feed to 0/16 while calling me a hamburger for some reason, not to mention we were against a 5 stack. The other game was something around 4-30..seriously, I don't mind losing but if it was a decent game and not just a stomp to put me back at 50%. I mean if this is how it's balanced how am I ever to get to higher level games if as soon as I do good this happens.

You're wrong, it does match you with increasingly skilled opponents as you get better.

However, for any given 10 players that get matched together in a match, if you are the highest skilled player out of those 10, then you are more likely to have the lowest skilled players on your team as well, to 'balance' it out.

The matchmaker also will raise your Elo and try to put you in players of equivalent skill, which indirectly tries to get the win rate to 50%. However, it has never looked at your historical win rate and put you in a game where it knew that you were expected to lose.
Is every post on this forum about the Dunning-Kruger effect?

Got to +38, fell to +6
Got to +25, fell to +2
Got to +32 and now I am +26

Worst thing is, I can't stop playing when I am losing. Had 8 games losing streak. Even worse, I played with degenerates and my opponents were koreans. Even worse I was muted and couldnt rage properly.
So yes, you are absolutly right
