I can promise you that there are more than 10 people who have been muted and claim innocence. Probably up in the thousands.

I'm pretty sure there isn't even a thousand active threads related to muting. As we all know of course, if you have something to say you have to make your own thread to make your opinion seem more important than the other existing ones, therefore you would expect over a thousand unique threads related to muting.

Word filters are barely useful. Plus, it's the intent of the message that is insulting, not the words themselves.

True, but on the other hand you could provide a whitelist. Either way though I would consider it an improvement, because I don't think it is quite necessary to remove communication completely. Some communication is necessary to win at least. Can't rely on pinging and chat wheel alone.

Yes it bothers me and I will not tolerate toxic players in my games even if they say "ez game" or "kill secured" in all chat, they will get a report from me. And you know what? I always have spare reports means those people get reported again and again.

System is working like intended.

If you report people just because they write in chat "ez game" you are a silly brat exploiting the system. Mute system has been created to report disruptive behavior, which is not the case. I'll make an example: if along the "ez game" the dude writes "ez game ez life y'all cunts are so noob I'm playing with one hand on the mouse and the other on my cock" then you have the right, if not the obligation, to report that player. There is no need to report an annoying yet legit "ez game" since in any other competition mocking is legal.
That's why people hate this system, because if you write something that is not in line with the mindset of every player you get days of chat mute. Even worse, people get muted even if they never used the chat. Just check the forums for a video-proof if you don't believe me.
Oh, I'm saying this as a pro-mute-system player.

To be fair, I'd be willing to bet 85% of Dota players have no idea that this forum even exists.

On the flip side of being fair, I wouldn't necessarily say that 99% of people hate the mute system. I'd be willing to bet a solid majority do, however.
