  • Valve why can´t you do better for the community?

    It is really hard to play as a team when half of them can´t write/read english or aren´t willing to... (the ironic part: i play eu west/east and have only english as language selected)

    why don´t you let me ban those people with the reason communication abuse /language abuse? i only lost ban points for nothing...

    here is my suggestion:
    1. people who can´t/aren´t willing to read or write english shall not play with people who have only english selected! or in general the language they selected (for what we have that language separation selection, when it doesn´t help anyway)

    2. people who break this rule should be banned from server where they broke the rule ( as a example: a non-(nativ)-english speaking guy plays in eu west server and aren´t willing to use english language but have it selected. the people on the game server reported him for communication abuse. he should then be banned from eu west server but still be able to play on other server. so he might be willing to play only on the servers where his language is allowed. Is it also worth trying to disalbe the selection of the language he got banned for.)

    2.1. maybe it would help to open more language selection and mark english as the international acknowledged. when they have english selected they have a larger pool of players.

    3. please tell the people the reason why they have been banned so they can change. Many people are totally unaware of why they were banned. (pls tell them more in detail. it totally doesn´t help when it only says as example: "ability abuse" for new players. they have no clue what they did wrong)

    4. please give a message to the player who have banned them a more detailed message as well. so they get a better understanding for what reason you banned. so we spend our ban points more wisely.

    5. about the current mute system: Muted players should only be able to play with muted players. it would be a great experience for them to see how it feels to play with muted players so they avoid to getting muted.
    "I would like to say is just the fact that muted players can often really hurt games even when they aren't trying to grief, not being able to communicate severely cripples the chance of a team being able to work together and I see no reason why four players who haven't done anything wrong should be handicapped with a player who got himself muted. " - [G*D]Silverhunter

    if you agree to my suggestion and criticism, please write a comment or post "agree" or "+" so this post might get more attention from Valve´s Dota2 team. I´m also willing to at good suggestion to the list.

    edit:
    added 5.
    added 2.1

      I agree with him.
      All of these points sound convincing.
      Please do not ignore this request, because it corresponds to the reality...
      At least try to form your own opinion based on a survey of the people.
      We all would be grateful if you would devote a little attention to our request.

      yours faithfully

            This has nothing to do with racism.
            In a teamwork game I want to be able to communicate.
            If someone doesn't speak the languages I speak, I don't want to play with them and I'm perfectly fine with them not wanting to play with me.

            It's not like "ban all X speakers" it's more about that the actual language selection option SHOULD have a meaning. Which it don't atm.
            If I choose english, I want english.

              I would quote the forum rules, but since you aren't totally new here OP, you should know them.

              @1: Everyone is allowed to queue everywhere. There are no english only servers. Icefrog sayed this in his first Q/A blog at blog.dota2.com.

              @2: Banned topic.

              @3: Already suggested.

              @4: Yes, guidelines could be good. I agree.

              @5: Off topic. No comment.

                about this point "@1: Everyone is allowed to queue everywhere. There are no english only servers. Icefrog sayed this in his first Q/A blog at blog.dota2.com."

                What if i want to queue up with english speaking people only, because it's the sole way to communicate with my team?

                  Valve's response to this is a very simple " TOO FUCKING BAD".

                    ofc, the meaning of 1 person is not that important, but there are lot of other people who share this meaning, so are these meanings beeing ignored?

                      If it's too fucking bad, why did they introduce language selection?
                      Oh... probably because should be able to play with the language you prefer.

                      - Added Language option for Matchmaking. You will find players when matchmaking that have selected the same language(s).

                        @1: as some already mentioned why would valve/icefrog have add option to select language afterward when they haven´t rethink there first though.

                        @2,3,5: it seems true that there are already post with some mentioned suggestion. but there are so many of the same in more then 10 post. so i though this post should be a collection of suggestion in one post with similar contend. and all in the post related topic is concerned about "communication issue". so there is non off topic.

                          Hard to do that when there's only 3 language options to choose from. Why isn't there other languages available, or at the very least an option that literally says "other" ?

                          However, players that only know russian should queue up with other players that know russian, unless of course they are fluent enough to communicate in English with other players.

                            I don't know.
                            I just know that the language selection is there, and as stated in the update "so you can, play with teammates who have selected the same language".
                            Atm it has no use, because people ignore it...
                            I want it to have a use... and I don't mind if they add 200 languages or not.

                              Valve is doing a great job for the community they will have...but not the one it has right now.

                              So they'll hunt us. Because we can take it. We're Silencer. We're Slardar. We're Chaos Knight.
