  • The Mute System Has Improved.

I hated it to death, but now, after the update, it is indeed much better.
But I have 1 question, my friend got muted for 24h, if he get muted again is it 168h? also, how long after the first 24h mute does it take for him to not get a 168h mute if he is reported again?

  • #2
He will get 48h mute if he gets reported again, and he needs to spend 2 weeks not muted iirc

mute system hasnt improved. u just need 4 reports to report someone, before u just needed 2.

the 2 week is a retarded time for players like me who play every day around 10 games.

In all actuality, yes, that does seem like an unusual amount of time, but, it cant be lower then 1 week, because then their would no longer be a 1 week long mute you would be un-muted before the week is up. It has to be longer then 1 week, so 1 week and 1 day? People would simply be inclined to skip the 1 day and then play the next, this effect happens with the 2nd day, people could easily just skip it. You see where I'm going? 1 week is a well round date after the 1 week mute.
        K, don't press.

          @ wachon:

          - Implemented more lenient algorithm for communication bans that takes into account how many games are played.
          - Reset communication ban lengths if a player has not been banned in two weeks.
          - Reset all existing communication bans as part of the recent algorithm changes.

Since last patch. Amount of reports until muted depends on how many games you play.

they really need to just get rid of it. irreversible muting for a decided length of time ruins games for the entire team, not just the intended punished player

it should be scaled to the amount of games you play. if i end up in the 1 week mute for some reason i wont leave that loophole since i play every day and alot in 2 weeks im gona play over 150 games and im pretty sure some rage player will report me for no reason at all in all those games. after the 1 week mute ends i still have to wait 1 week for the mute thing to reset so i dont get insta muted again. this doesnt help at all the players like me who play alot

strange because my friend got muted for 24 hours after playing 1 game.

I think the whole length of the ban should change
It should be more like # of games muted
So like 5 games in a row, or like 10 games etc...
This way, it counters actual trolls, by not allowing them to troll for that long.

It DOES take into account how many games you have played when choosing to mute you, so there is now a difference between a 100% report ratio and a 0.3%.

So, if you have a less likelihood of good players being muted, why change the time it takes for the multiplier to reset?

because if u enter once the mute loophole as a very active player its most probably you will never leave it. in the 1 week i have to avoid getting reported im gona play over 70 games. what assures me im not gona get a report from a guy that got mad because i got his pick or i didng bought the items he told me or even from the enemy team, reported for picking pl or something like that.

there is a bigger chance for players like me to never leave the loophole if we enter it and im pretty sure im not a repeated offender. i dont go insulting every one on every game i play.

atm the mute system is more intended for casual players mostly.

The patch has not been released so long ago so you shouldn't judge the current mute system how it worked in the past.

I've never been muted before and I have people added who say they do not deserve to be muted. But when I played with them they had a very aggressive tone some even went straight up trashtalking despite telling me a second ago they don't trashtalk.

I wouldnt be surprised if the timer starts counting from the time your last mute ENDS

so if you are muted today for 1 week, you need to wait 3 weeks from today to have your acc back to the 24 hours mute
Make a NON automated report system.
I would rather wait 10 minutes for a balanced, fun and exciting match that will last 1+ hours. Than wait 10 seconds for a poorly balanced crapmatch that will end in 30- minutes
Valve, How I'm I supposed to respect certain boundaries to prevent a mute if I dont know them because they are different for each and every person on each and every game I play?
The only type of player that dislikes having his stats public are the players that suck and cheaters

wich will never happen to me due to the amount of games i play and the chances i have to get reported is 400% higher than someone who plays 3-4 games per week

I see no point for which you people are still discussing this matter.

Things are pretty simple: The mute system HAS TO GO. You can't revoke communication off a player in a forced coop multiplayer competitive game, it just makes NO SENSE.
