  • Honestly, why limited reports? Griefers are rampant.

I played two games, and each of them had about 3 griefers/terrible players EACH that just continually didn't respond or did respond with a frequent 'stfu' 'fk u moter' and whatnot.

1~2 on my team, 1 on the enemy team. Except theirs actually picked a useful hero rather than a carry when we already have 2 other carries (hint: I wasn't one of them...)

They actually had the courtesy to let the one griefer (SFiend) walk up to them, and ULT them to see if it'll kill them. He did, and managed to kill one of them at low hp (except, I think it was with the death-ult rather than the casted). That's how bad it was. Needless to say, that game was hilarious, but needless to say, it was a god damn disaster at the same time.

This hasn't happened yet, but I'm afraid of when I actually report the TWO TIMES THAT THE SYSTEM LIMITS ME TO, cause then I'll have no choice but to play with griefers for the remainder of this beta...and actually, most likely the remainder of DotA II (long time?). How the hell did half of these people get into the beta? Did the people controlling who gets in just completely ignore what their 'honesty' in the survey said (to get in)?

I for one was completely honest about everything, but who knows what kind of slander these people input in those slots.

I realize there was invites, but shouldn't that mean the people invited play with their friends instead of solo-ruining games?

(How long do you play MOBAs for, a week, on average? 100+ hours a week HURRDURRRR. I ALSO KNOW HOW TO PLAY 100% OF HEROES.)

Oh, and playing 100% of heroes (well) is doable, but it's a lot more easily said than done.

EDIT: Do something about this. Fix matchmaking. Fix something.

Because if you have more than two reports the griefers will have more than two reports as well....

However, it has never looked at your historical win rate and put you in a game where it knew that you were expected to lose.
Is every post on this forum about the Dunning-Kruger effect?

It's a good way to normalise the effect of reports from each player whilst providing easy to understand feedback to the player that it's taking place, whist also keeping any individual player's impact on the report system range bound.

If you can think of a better way to do it that fulfills these criteria then I'd like to hear it because when I tried, to my suprise, I ended up with exactly the same system.

      To avoid LPQ:

      Don't draw attention to yourself
Don't use voice or chat except for 'ss'
      Mute all at lvl 1
      Only play in parties
      Get alternate accounts
Limit your usage to one or two games per day per account
      Don't play too well
Don't play on Sunday or Monday
Wait until the developers reset LPQ status

If you're getting matched with trolls or feeders:

You may have been placed in a hidden pool. There is no known way out of this, apart from moving to a different account.

I could dissect your thing much more, but you are reporting people for their hero choices rather then how they act. You, among many people are the huge problem, and you are very ignorant to not realize this. Even if someone picks a hero that puts you at a "disadvantage" dota isn't linear enough where that alone decides a game.

This is the exact reason valve limited reports, because many people like you abuse it for all the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately in a self automated system, something you assume are griefers other people care less. Thus leading to one of the major flaws to a automated report system.

Because the mute system sucks, its automated and NEEDS us to have very few reports so that people will abuse it LESS
Make a NON automated report system.
I would rather wait 10 minutes for a balanced, fun and exciting match that will last 1+ hours. Than wait 10 seconds for a poorly balanced crapmatch that will end in 30- minutes
Valve, How I'm I supposed to respect certain boundaries to prevent a mute if I dont know them because they are different for each and every person on each and every game I play?
The only type of player that dislikes having his stats public are the players that suck and cheaters

The last time "we got more reports," two longstanding supporters of the automated mute system - Typhox and Automedic - turned against it.

As long as Valve insists on an automated system, we must have limited reports. Letting a "toxic community...own the definition of abuse" results in the community trolling itself if you give it power through unlimited reports.
We need a player review system like Overwatch for DotA 2. Get real people to judge communication abuse, intentional skill abuse, and intentional feeding.

The important thing is removing the biases and misconceptions:

                * Report refesh should be after a number of games, not weekly or after sucessful punishment.
                * Punishment should be when a number of reports are recieved within a number of matches.
                * Redemption should be after a number of games, not weeks.
                * The interface should be changed. The text field removed and the word 'report' changed to 'vote'.

Then everyone knows how it works and everyone gets an equal influence and effect.
                To avoid LPQ:

My reports never drop below 2 on more than one account, so we have infinite reports again, they have done this and 'fixed it' 5+ times now
