It's not really a conspiracy, but I didn't know what else to call it.
Ever since Terrorblade's introduction, his lore has pretty much left me in the cold. As far as demons go, DotA 2 has had some acceptably interesting ones so far with Doom, Shadow Fiend, Shadow Demon, and the impending release of Abyssal Underlord, but Terrorblade has an incredibly cliched backstory, like something a fourteen-year-old boy might write. "Oh he was the most badass demon ever and he was so cool and evil and bad that they sent him to HELL'S HELL but then he escaped because he's so badass!" Ugh.
Anyway, I looked into Terrorblade a little bit and found out that his voice actor, David Sobolov, is also the voice of the villain Malebolgia in the PS2 video game of SPAWN. As in, the epitome of overly badass and cool evil demon characters.
Could this have been intentional on Valve's part? Is Terrorblade meant to be a joke on that type of character? They've made an intentional reference with voice actor casting before, by having Tinker share a voice with Dr. Kleiner from Half-Life.
