  • Hero wearables have no story/lore behind them at all!

I've noticed this for a long time now, usually new equipment have no lore, just blank. Lore guys care no?

I'm not saying that they should have long stories, they should have at least some story, eg.
    Spoiler:

Helm of a Savage Age: "A ceremonial headgarb to honor the ferocity of a savage age."

Bracer of a Savage Age: "In hallowed ceremony on honored days, the Ursa remember a savage time before they earned the gift of speech."

Sange the Backseeker: "Sange, one of the two legendary moonblades, is said to be unnaturally accurate and able to change to a form that best fits the fighting style of its owner. In the hands of Riki the weapon becomes a small dagger."

Yasha the Quickblade: "Yasha, one of two legendary moonblades, is said to take on a form that best matches its owner's chosen martial art. In the hands of Riki this weapon takes the blade of a small, well balanced dagger."

It shows an added effort, doesn't need that each piece should have a different lore, would be better if at least a certain piece would have a different description such as a helmet or a weapon. So workshop guys out there please, at least add some lore to your stuff CAUSE even the cheapest candies have some description!!!

Most of them do add it, it's taken out of the game on release for whatever reason. Well, part of that reason may be that those snippets tend to be awful.

It's a pretty unfortunate trend, but as long as they look reasonable it is not exactly the end of the world. The more ludicrous additions, like the chainsaw, do get something, and that is... acceptable.

Besides, it's less work for me.
Heroes this user should seriously reconsider ever picking again.

IMO that's good from the lore's standpoint - keep everything stick to the canon (aka lore written by Valve). Anyone remember how one item single-handedly turned Naga Siren into Slark's waifu? Yup, don't wanna see that happen again.
Remember, remember the 1st of November

Didn't Valve read and approved it?

Yea, I really miss these little bits of lore. Every so often a new item has them, but the trend seems to be not.

I wouldn't care if items didn't have lore. I don't want item creators to force themselves to write any bit of lore just to connect their items to something.

Lazyness. Not to mention the lack of bugfixes, and the amount of new ones with each new content added

Yeah, it might be a common thing, so the creators feel compelled to do it, eventually writing horrible and so out of the way lore.

Absolutely. I mean if they can write good ones, let them do it but if they can't, why force them to do it, right?

Actually %70 of players doesn't even read the heroes bio. Dota's lore does not being interested, just like the every other Online games. Only if the series has a single-player games. For example WoW, the story is still being interested even in MMORPG because of Warcraft I-II-III.

They actually do much for lore. If it was another company instead of Valve, they'd not even add the skills lore description.

Indeed but if hero biographies can be seen in the selection screen like wc3 Dota heroes where you can read their bios hovering the pointer on each hero, I think that would lessen like 60%.

Hero bios have no easy access, you have to go to the library to load it, it's not pre-loaded.

One of the many reasons why the current grid view is horrible. Never forget:

Are we making up statistics now?

The old picking is much better.

Please no! Us translators already have a lot of lore shit to translate, don't give us much more.
