Questions about Nyx Assassin's morphology and his goddess

He's an assassin, a specific assassin at that - augmentation and other vivisection is commonplace for them. It's pretty likely that his pincers were just screwed in to make him more efficent - in fact, some cosmetics point to that.

Which comsetics exactly? I'm curious

Also could it be that the scarab courier Scribbins is actually related to Nyx's species (maybe the worker caste) seeing how Nyx Assassin was shown at the end of the demonstration video? The exoskeleton seems very like the one on Nyx.

It's suggested that the armor grows over the main carapace - that, or it is actually forged. Something tells me that a layer of chitin does not do wonders agaisnt magic, swords, arrows and lasers.

Would be weird if it actually grew since it seems to be made of some metal. Actually as strange at this may sound chitin based exoskeletons can be stronger than iron, for example ironclad beetles need a drill to be pinned and can even survive being ran over by a car.

The vagueness is where it's at - we aren't sure. Looking at how a lot of gods in the game like to be pretty oblique, it's likely that Nyx is just a very powerful creature, possibly their queen, who "cosplays" as their goddess. If she isn't the queen, then she's just there, birthing larvae and not being all too important.

Interesting... Is she mentioned anywhere else in the game's lore outisde of Nyx Assassin's bio?

Honestly, I'd be more confused as to why Broodmother, a spider, has a mouth with teeth. The answer is "to make you miserable", but, yeah. This one I can't explain.

Add to that her responce that she eats liquified guts of her enemies and it makes it even more bizzare I guess the coolness factor comes before accuracy...

By the way could it be that Valve simply added 2 more legs to Nyx simply because of the copyright issue which they might have if he looks too much like Anub'Arak? I mean they did change the names because of that.

I know that mandibles are believed to have evolved from legs but still Nyx's anatomy suggests that the upper body (which I guess is the thorax) is built to have strong appendages and he does already have mandibles. I'm going to ignore the fact that his walking legs are connected to the abdomen rather than the thorax but in the world of Dota 2 it seems that some insects indeed follow such a body plan (just look at the courier Alphid of Lecaciida, there are arms attached to the thorax and 4 walking legs attached to the abdomen).

Chitin can be very strong, one of the strongest natural material actually. A recent experiment found chiting based cuticle to be stronger than iron while also being lighter which makes a perfect armour if you ask me

First of all I will ask you to refrain from pointing out how silly my questions might be, I've been a huge insect and biology lover since I can remember and it has impacted my choice of heroes when it comes to such games as Dota 2

So here are my questions:

• Since in his lore Nyx Assassin is mentioned to be an insect (seeing how his species are included in an entomological book) why does he have 8 limbs instead of 6 like all insects?
