Terrorblade's Lore attempts

I hosted a contest while back on Lore writing. Here are a few entries entries.

Originally aspiring to become an acolyte of the benevolent Turstarki Monks, the demon of a man now known as Terrorblade faced an obstacle he never could have foreseen. The peaceful monks were very selective in choosing new apprentices and only admitted Magina, his trusted brother into their temple. Despite his pleas for admittance and success during the initiation trials, the monks ignored young Terrorblade and his brother made no effort to assist him. Feelings of betrayal and hatred swept through Terrorblade’s soul, his life’s aspirations taken away from him by his own kin in one fell swoop. However, this was not enough to halt Terrorblade’s quest for glory and after teaching himself a powerful summoning incantation, he attempted to call forth the assistance of the. Asking for nothing but the power to fulfill his revenge, the Dark God granted his wishes at the cost of his very soul. Marching on the Turstarki monastery, Terrorblade and the Dark God's legion slaughtered all who stood before them, but in an unexpected twist of fate Magina escaped. Metamorphosed by his hatred and growing demonic power, Terrorblade became the Dark God’s most loyal follower with only one goal left in his mind. To steal the soul of his brother; and to be the keeper of all souls, until he finds his own again.

Of the two brothers who vied for the hand of blood princess Mirana. He was the one who got left behind. Where his brother Magina shone in all aspects becoming of the next Champion of the Solar Throne, he himself struggled with the simplest magic. Ashamed and vowing to return worthy of her hand, he abandoned his privileged life in the shadow of his brother and disappeared through the Nightsilver Woods. No one but himself knows what happened. Some say he broke the limits of magic, others that he consorted with demons and gained their powers. Both are only half-truths. Warriors unfortunate enough to cross his path felt nothing save their life slowly being drained and mages or rangers always found…more than one of him. Never revealing his origins but appearing wherever battle was thickest, his war-glaives unique to the Kingdom of the Sun and his mastery in combat quickly earned him the name Terrorblade - a name soon to become legend. But none of his accomplishments prepared him for his return. For the Kingdom had fallen to the Legion of the Dead God. The palaces razed, the Turstarkuri monasteries burned, the people naught but the walking dead. Of his beloved, there was no sign. Now no longer mortal, only vengeance drives him. His true identity embedded and buried amongst souls of his foes to form the entity known only as the Soul Keeper.

If you search for Magina's rival quotes for Terrorblade, he mentions that Terrorblade was the "favorite". Maybe add something where it says, "Terroblade's hunger for power corrupted him." or something similar.

He says that their mother preferred terrorblade, also that his brother is a keeper.

His lore has to be something related to that.

I could said it is very good. Only that both fenrir and evm are true: Terrorblade is the favorite one, not Magina. You could work that out a little bit.

Actually its not my lore. I just hosted a contest and these two were the winning entries. I had nothing to do with writing these.

+1 for the first one, i like it how you tied it well with anti-mage's lore

Something to fix would be that he should turn to the "Dead Gods," not the "Dark Gods," in order to make the link to Magina's lore. His "hunger for power" that Magina mentions appropriately fits the first lore, though.

The second lore has a big problem that clashes with Magina. Saying that Terrorblade "struggled with the simplest magic," which made him be considered inferior to Magina gives the impression that Magina is adept at sorcery (something that Magina opposes).

I really like that first one. The story of how they parted ways on ill terms, and how it was actually Terroblade that was responsible for the destruction of the monastery, and how it caused Magina to return his hatred and in turn become the Anti-Mage. It may need some refining, but not much. It's very fitting in all aspects. I love the way you get to read the story from another perspective, and how it pieces together. I don't think I could come up with a better reason for the brothers resentment of each other. It's much better than the second one at least. I don't see where in the Dota 2 lore that they have any connection to Mirana. It's referencing the original WC3 lore, and possibly that one korean movie some guy made. It does not fit in Dota 2, however.
