I'm going to screw with you right here and mention the fact that there are ally responses between Lycan and Syllabear. For example, Lycan associates himself as a shapeshifter, thus allowing him to gladly team up with someone like Sylla (and vice versa).
You can argue the fact that it's done merely for the sake of gameplay, but I don't really argue with the "outcast" bit. In fact, I feel like the shapeshifters themselves are viewed as outcasts by the non-shapeshifters, and understand only each other.
    Nope. It's a gameplay thing.

Kunkka and Tide have ally lines. KotL has lines towards Chaos Knight and Nightstalker. Roof greets Jakiro and Ogre, despite both of them wielding fire. Omniknight will speak to Chen, despite both being extremist religious fanatics, and Chaos Knight, who despises him. Slithice has lines for Slardar and Tide, despite warring against both the Leviathans and the Deep Ones.

    EDIT:
Mind you, I like the idea. I like it a lot, it's just that his lore currently isn't too Dire'ish, and especially if they make it so that the King of Slom and QoP are related, it'll make it even more apparant that his clan was fighting for a just cause, and should belong to the Radiant.
Lycan does have the free ticket of inner beast, but if you just look at his quotes it's obvious that he largely controls his inner beast, he's not a slave to its power.
Even if he's unaware that the reason the king became corrupt was QoP (because if he knew, he'd be on the Radiant for certain), I still think it makes the King corrupt to such a degree that he is definitely fighting for good. The only possible argument you can make at that point is that he only cares for revenge which has corrupted his other ideals, but then it's HELLO Vengeful Spirit, who only cares for revenge yet still sides with the good guys.
Good points all around, but I think his Dire affiliation has more to do with the nature of his curse. Despite having good intentions and fighting for vengeance, his lycanthropy makes him murderous and bloodthirsty. Clinkz is a similar example; he used to be a valiant warrior who strove to defeat Maraxiform, but he was imbued with an unholy curse. Despite fighting for good, he's aligned with the Dire due to his physical nature.

They should just remove the radiant/dire alignment from the hero selection screen imo.

    Hero alignment is arbitrary.
Some would argue that Vengeful Spirit should be Dire, because all she's doing is seeking revenge. But she's Radiant because she's a victim robbed of her birthright.
Some would argue Meepo is a harmless enough guy, and should be Radiant. But he's Dire because he stole a gem that split his soul.

None of them are strictly good or evil. It's all circumstance from their lore which defines their alignment.

Hell, look at Morphling. He's Radiant and all he did was land on the earth and kill both sides of two warring armies.

Dire/Radiant is only referred once I think, in the item description of one of Morph's items (Radiant * set). So yeah...

I thought there's no Radiant/Dire division in the game itself when it comes to hero selection apart from the empty space between groups of heroes?

But both kings still pretty different tastes for entertainment.

The King of Slom keeps large amount of rare beasts purely for his enjoyment. (Also since he have mages that can turn people to animals, these beasts was very likely to be former humans)

The King in QoP lore is a hardcore masochist.

In this case, both kings are kinda crazy in the head, it's not outside of the realms of possibilities for the King of Slom to be only slightly crazy at first, end up summoning QoP, which worsens it greatly, eventually causing Lycan's family to attempt to overthrow him.
I feel it's even better than a normal connection, because the heroes wouldn't actually be aware of each other, but they all played a part in a larger plot.
Seeing the ripples caused by a character's actions, which the character isn't even aware of, is usually far more interesting than the actions themselves.
The only possible connection would be the timeline. Since the Mad King of Slom and the Ecclesiast-King of Elze are two entirely different people, it is possible that QoP happened to be summoned by the Ecclesiast-King of Elze and also escaped him BEFORE any of Lycan and BM's events took place. In that sense she COULD have been involved. Also another issue with this, QoP was essentially summoned by the Ecclesiast-King of Elze with the sole purpose of creating torture porn. She tortures her victims psychologically and physically, causing as much pain as possible for as long as possible. She doesn't really "Corrupt" people in the sense that she made the Mad King of Slom into a power hungry and blood thirsty tyrant. If she had been involved, he'd be far less badass. I'm pretty sure hes just an exceptionally bad human being.

I'd ask the same question, but I've got a better one.

Why bring the topic back to life, why dispel the sleep, why crumble the tombstone on the mainly pointless and hard-to-establish suggested connection? It has been 6 months.

The discussion is wonderful. But I do not got to the point.

Just tell me: Why Lycan and Akasha' Lores need to be connected?
