And revenge is the path to darkness, that's most likely why he's Dire.

While Radiant is more towards the selfless side and 'peace-wanting' side I suppose (someone may correct me on the Radiant but the dire is definitely not evil).
    How bout no.

But selfish and 'peace-wanting'/selfless have a large difference, because selfish is bad and selfless/'peace-wanting' is good lol, although it don't have enough prove to say it's evil or not, but because of it, both side will be fighting with each other so their aim can be achieved.

I can understand this. So it means that heroes joined the radiant or dire side have their own reason, like strong allies(The hero's own opinion like Banethulhu stated), to revenge like Vengeful Spirit/Troll Warlord, to get rid of his own enemy so they join the side like Timbersaw so they won't fuck him up, and extend honor like Centaur/Juggernaut but both still need some allies. So thank you Banethulhu.

Each hero ma have their own reason for joining each side, deosn't mean all radiant heroes are good and all dire ones are evil.

For example, timbersaw hates the treants but is on their side, maybe because he's so scared of them he'd rather be on their side so they won't harm him than against them.

And lycan, he's not really evil, but maybe joined the dire side because he maybe thought it was the side with the strongest allies that could help him bring justice to his cause.

Honestly, we could just use this thread to make up reasons for why each hero is on the side that they are.

Troll Warlord, for example, could have sided with the Radiant because:
a). The Radiant side's "people" aren't as caustic as the Dire side's.
b). All "pro-life" heroes are naturally drawn to fighting for the Radiant.
c). Troll Warlord maybe an asshole, but he's an asshole with a heart of gold (the size of a little nugget) deep inside. Which is something I just went and derived from that one line of him asking why nobody likes him. He went and killed his last group, yeah, but that's because they beat him up and left him for dead.

Valve has already stated Radiant does not represent good, and Dire does not represent evil.

    Hi ladies and gentlemen,

Since we know that DotA and DotA 2's lore is different. Although DotA's lore is more like a hero description and DotA 2 is quite better (more bombastic words than DotA's, but DotA heroes' lore seems to team related (Sentinel and Scourge) while in DotA 2 some heroes seems to have joined the team (Radiant and Dire) randomly/doesn't makes sense.

This is because that Radiant is justice-sided/harmonic and Dire is evil-sided/demonic as we can see just like DotA, but some of the heroes seem to be not bothered or interested in both team, just like the Troll Warlord's response and lore (I kill my enemy first, my allies next) and also many other heroes (except Harbinger and some of the other heroes (lazy to mention..) ) And their lore is just about their life and background story rather than why did they join the team.(Except for some of the heroes in DotA/DotA 2 because sometime they don't mention it directly but you still can know it from what they did/behave)

So i suggest that we should rearrange some of the heroes response and lore that are need to change so they can suit the hero's team and look. Any comment is welcome except trolls and pointless post. Sorry for my bad English.

BTW:Troll Warlord's model sucks IMO (The concept ones which he's green and looks cool as you can see it before his lore is completed is much better though.)
