Apple did that with the Patriot's act some time ago, warning users that the fbi or w/e shit government structure is checking user personal data while not breaking the law (the Patriot's act prohibits warning users that they're being monitored)

If you get shadow banned your past posts are visible but your new posts aren't. You can still post but noone will see them. Moderators of the subreddits can still view your post and approve them for other people to see.
