Paragon is a step up from Smite since it is "real" 3D. The spells and projectiles travel in a 3D space.
Spells and projectiles in Dota 2, Smite, LoL, WC3 seem to travel in a 3D space but they actually travel in a 2D space. It is rendered 3D. AOE spells give 0 fuck if you are in the air or not. Just do WR's powershot or Clock's hookshot at river or at heroes who are tossed etc. The only thing that matters here are X/Y coordinates. Heights plays a lesser role but there are situation where heights are utilized. (uphill miss chance, uphill fog, tossed units don't block other units, spawn boxes (kunkka's torrent can stack). There aren't a lot of situation where heights are and should be utilized. It is easier to just ignore it completely and implement some pseudo-height (Dota 2 and WC3). In the MOBA market Paragon is unique in that aspect.
Paragon is still in alpha so it is unfinished. It will look prettier and it will run better. What probably won't change is their card system. Before the game starts you can customize your hero with cards. They are put into a deck. When you queue for a game you select a deck and play with that. Cards you draw are randomized. That's what I currently hate most about Paragon.

I've made my fair share of criticism towards Dota 2 but I also defended Valve when the criticism made no sense. Or when I explained why I prefer Valve over Riot Games. Companies aren't flawless but if I have to pick a side I pick Valve over Riot Games which apparently makes me a drone and fanboy.

I explained my reasons while you just tend to misinterpret, taking things out of context or making it all up.
A fanboy is in my eyes someone who mindlessly defends Valve. I've seen them. I've argued against a few. A fanboy wouldn't be someone who would praise the competitor with valid criticism. But what's the opposite? Someone who hates mindlessly while making ridiculous stories - just like a fanboy. You said yourself you are a salty and cancerous hater and that you prefer everyone over Valve.
