  • Stupid question: Why are we still playing dust2 and shit in CS:GO tournaments?
And why was aztec / nuke kicked if we keep all the old maps?

I mean, the operation maps are quite cool and probably competetive-worthy with small tweaks. Why isn't valve just putting some other maps in the active-group?

especially de_royal in the current wildfire operation is a really cool map.
But well, since nuke got a visual remake, maybe it will end up in the active group again^^

Bc there's no direct money in it. That's all. Ofc soon there will be a new "Ranked Elite Pass" available with new tweaked maps for ranked gaming, for merely 9,99 EUR and 9,99 USD because fuck exchange rates as well.

      • So you're telling me it'll take them 5 years of CS being established to realize they can make money of new maps? I don't think so. There must be another reason, right? I just dont get it.

Now I'm sure the Chinese are just trolling Valve. This can't be real.

A lot of the skill in pro-players is based on them knowing maps, and i mean KNOWING them, every square inch and the exact time it takes for someone to run to a location, how long it takes for the flash or the smoke to go off, and so on. All that vanishes when a fresh map comes out. Pros don't like that.

This is why we're not getting new DOTA maps either? I mean, terrains and stuff?

                    • That's a stupid arguement, even though it is correct, I know.

Time to learn new maps, right?
Apart from that, everyone has the same amount of time to adapt to the new maps, so it's not like this is a "balancing" issue or something.

                        • I don't think it's about time to learn new maps, it's just that those maps are the best and nobody managed to make a better one.

So it's just the regular Valve and Valve-fanboy snobbery.
