    • Problems is Warcraft movie will flop bad. IMO WC universe is saturated, nobody digs it anymore.
Also SC2 and the RTS scene has sunk down and down because (mostly) only koreans shine and care about it, Blizz didn't do anything to make the game more 'accessible' to the average player (like for example introducing a mechanic or mode that automates/performs/helps with most menial and repetitive taks).

IMO the smarter move for them with this would be to make a completely new game in a freshly conceived new universe/lore. But Blizzard from the 21st century is not exactly known for being smart...
Heck I Hope Blizzard dies, they are worse than valve+EA combined.

      • I hope there will be no microtransaction that affects gameplay or gaming content. I just want to buy the game once. I'm okay with expansion/DLC (assuming they aren't as plenty as Sims DLCs or a new DLC every 6 months).
Current trend is making a game with microtransaction since that is the most profitable model. I hope if they go this route it only affects cosmetics.

Making WC4 is a lot more effort than making Hearthstone, HotS. And Hearthstone generates a lot of money for Blizzard. It would be amazing if Blizzard were to make SC3 or WC4. If they really commit depending on the final result it might flop either due to their aggressive microtransactions or their lack of commitment on making a good game. Aggressive microtransaction being Hearthstone. I'm personally turned off by it but seeing its success most people don't seem to mind. And lack of commitment being Heroes of the Storm. HotS is written on top of the SC2 engine as a result the same problems SC2 is facing, exists in HotS: maphacking, "catch up" when reconnecting. Sure hacks in other games exist as well. We are no exception but the hacks are limited by the information provided to the client. Blizzard doesn't need dedicated servers which helped them tremendously during their early days but I think this way of hosting a game is dated.

If they choose to make WC4 I'd like to be proven wrong and see WC4 become a success. RTS genre is pretty dead. If Blizzard can revive that genre (+ tournament scene) there might be a future for WC4. I wish there were more companies that would make RTS games on a higher budget/with more depth. I think WC3 is still fun (I sometime watch WC3 tournaments) but the graphic and the controls are very dated. You have to edit your hotkeys in WC3 via a text document.

          • On an unrelated note, I'm having some fun scripting my random dungeon generation script for my game mode/map. I've had to refactor my code several times over the past months after getting used to Lua and I finally struck the right cord and am making good progress. Gifs will probably be coming sometime 'soon'™.

              • Welp, i don't think that they would develop the game pretty fast. Always knew blizzard took years before releasing a game. SC2 was mentioned in 2007 and released in 2010. And they really polish their games before releasing it. A game that we ALL have been waiting for half of our lives like WC4 is, will make them take every single step carefully. They need to make a great work, having both, old and new things. Making you feel like if you were playing old WC but will tons of new stuff. They did it pretty well with SC2 but im fucking sure that it took them alot of time to do so.

I mean let's be honest, how many of us have been waiting for a WC4? since W3 released and so many years after, we all had the fantasy of playing that old beloved game with next gen graphics and animations and since i saw SC2 for the very first time back in 2010 i've dreaming for the same thing but with the Warcraft universe. It would be just so fucking epic.

We need a player review system like Overwatch for DotA 2. Get real people to judge communication abuse, intentional skill abuse, and intentional feeding.

                    • Really polishing the games. May I remind you about the diablo3 disaster? Bugged as shit. Worse than any valve game. .. I m playing d3 atm because a year After Release theyve managed to make it playable. Servers sometimes are still bugged as shit.

Hearthstone has some weird Bugs aswell. The times where blizzard delivered finished games are over.

And Since games These days generate costs to keep Servers and shit running they Do microtransactions and DLCs.
And to Milk money of course.

                          • I doubt it. If you sign up for an ISP it has to run for like at least 2 years. And when you want to switch you have to give a 4 months notice. Time may vary.
From my observation every ISP in Germany has their own problems. And none of them have good customer support. The only thing they are good at is giving you a better deal than you currently have but you have to call and complain. (Better deal as in more down/up speed and/or they give you sim cards with some good perks and/or they lower the monthly bill but internet stability is still same as usual. But if you go this route you are stuck with this ISP for at least another 1/2 years.)
Their fucking technician is useless. If you specifically state you are available starting 1 pm the technician comes at 11 am and says you weren't at home. Or they can't figure out where you live/they are lazy and claim they were there but no one was at home. ISP will tell you you fucked up and technician will come in another week.
Changing ISP does not always solve the problem. My parents switched their ISP 3 times but it didn't fix any of their problems. Instead during the switch they had no internet because a technician needs to come first.

The problem actually comes from me moving into a new city. The provider took 2 weeks to get a technician to my house to enable the line and then we figured out that the modem/router they provided doesn't work and they don't have them on stock at the moment (wtf...). The LTE connection is free for me until they give me a new modem, but downloading patches with 400 kb/s currently takes forever (and it's not that stable).

Not that you have to worry so much, though. Dota won't get a new patch until November.
