I really dislike this crappy Jan2011 bot re-sharing old stuff from reddit time and time again - when was the last time he came up with something original? that's right - never /s

                        • Valve still needs to provide proper incentives to keep playing. They have had so many tools at their disposal, but I'm afraid Artifact is taking up a great deal of their developers at the moment. They want to finalize the product and since DOTA 2 and Artifact are so closely tied together, it's DOTA 2 that gets the least attention. Just take a look at what we could have:

Functioning Guilds. Something that creates communities that makes people want to play in groups, which DOTA 2 is essential for.

Weekly Battle Cups. This is even a feature in Warcraft 3, to this day. It should be no problem running such a tournament system, with minor rewards, to create a purpose for clans/guilds/teams that aren't professional players.

Custom Game Passes. This was a great idea to support custom game developers, but Valve seems to have abandoned it completely. No idea why. Developers earned money, users who were willing to spend money received minor bonuses that largely didn't affect balance in these Custom Games.

I still feel like Talents were a step in the wrong direction for DOTA 2. It seems like a task too difficult to maintain balance when you're adding in Talents that can literally change the way a spell functions. The change were too drastic IMO - many players still haven't gotten used to them and I believe many people quit because they added this extra layer of choosing which direction to take your hero in, other than just the ability build.

                          • Weekly battlecups. Where you add a fancy trophy for winning 3 Pub 5v5 in a row, and Valve make $1+ for every match played in that tourny.

Take a look into the mirror! You think you are completely unfailable. With your limited knowledge, you think that you know more than someone who is very deep in the matter/an expert.

Again failing simple calculus.. it's $1 per player so $40 per cup...
