Because of the Diretide incident you pull the score from ~8 to below 5. Congratulation.
There are other ways of confronting Valve. Voice your criticism (which I also do) but keep your fingers from rating the site down.
You are not making Valve putting more ressources on Dota 2. Instead you hinder people from getting into Dota 2 and make it seem it isn't worth to develop on Dota 2.

The community is digging its own grave along with Dota 2.

Valve fucked up. No excuse about it. They could have done some simple things such as enabling the autumn map from last year.

Simply voice your frustration but don't do "vandalism".

I am also severly disappointed but what you guys are doing to metacritic is really contraproductive. Keep it up and it's going to be a ded gaem.

1. Voice your criticism? Oh boy, a thread with 8,000 posts is what exactly? What about the thousands, and thousands of comments over on reddit? What about the THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of ignored posts that have been posted here again and again? Valve has ignored us, it takes a simple one line blog update or tweet from an official source to tell us hey, no dire tide because we are working on X, or there will be a halloween event but delayed. 0 communication.

2. metacritic scores mean jack shit and this game has so much fucking rep that the change in rating will have almost no effect

No it is not bad. I also did it if you haven't noticed. However if you are destroying a game it is bad.

I am also really disappointed about Halloween like you and I have also spammed Give Diretide, asked how come there is no Diretide etc.
But doing that metacritic sh*t hinders the growth of Dota 2. Less players, bad reviews etc doesn't make it worthwhile for a company to improve.

Personally I encourage you guys to continue to voice your criticism since that is what makes the game become better. But keep your fingers from metacritic. Many sites quote from there and now new players might not give Dota 2 a chance. Less players means less people working on your beloved game.

Btw, last patch had 0 bug fixs, main bug list was updated 31/10 and contain more than 800 bugs. Valve, wtf?

Do I agree with bombing the ratings on Metacritic? No (although I can see the logic behind it: by bombing the ratings you damage Dota 2, which theoretically puts more pressure on Valve to do something about it). But when the forums have failed utterly as an avenue for player-developer communication, I don't think talking about it here will make a difference either.

People rarely look at the user score on Metacritic because it's rubbish. Games get review bombed if people can't connect day one, if there are microtransactions, if [other stupid reason] and more. Nobody takes it seriously precisely because of incidents like this. The one people pay attention to is the critic rating, and this spam won't change that.
