Switch function would fuck up the matchmaking system IMO. It's fine for practice though I guess.

      • switch function is a must. why would it f up the matchmaking system? you call a vote in the game and switch out a weak player (or disconnected) for a stronger player. the decision would be made by the players in-game and would be based on the players performance that specific game. matchmaking would play no part in that. or did you mean something else?

also, the forfeit system must come with certain prerequisites like a big kill difference, towers/raxxes destroyed, big gold difference, items and so on. when one or more of the prerequisites are triggered a vote must be called and then the players decide if they want to finish.

        • For those who say that people will concede after 2 feeding, I have no idea what you guys are talking about, and I never saw that, ever.
Not even with HoN. Most of the time, conceeding was done when atleast 4 of our towers were down and none of the team's towers were down.

Some of my (awesome) suggestions :
          - Left4Dead/Portal 2 style voice command
          - Music Transitions depending on area and time
          - Show full item recipe tree without opening shop menu

Matchmaking arranges players in teams so their skill level is balanced and then readjusts based on outcome. If you swap players to different teams, it'll mess up the matchmaking outcome score.

It's more for games that are already part way through. The way skill level is equated, will not always be 100% accurate. What if someone picks a new hero, what if they're having an off day, what if a friend is on the account etc.

It's more of a way to extend and make games, that would otherwise be ruined, more fun and competitive.

              • Please no to concede. I love how valve is trying to put out a positive approach, using the commend system etc. This is what we should be doing..rewarding behavior. Why concede? Cuz u have someone bad on ur team? Be a teacher..don't just say ff.

I really like this idea, and would love to see it in some extended detail.

Just giving my 2 cents here, in HoN I've never voted to concede because of a bad player in my team. I've wanted to concede because the game is effectively over yet the enemy team doesn't push their advantage or doesn't want to finish a game. Conceding allows me to get out of a game where all hope is lost for whatever reason, yet the enemy team will certainly take some 25 more minutes to properly finish it.

I realize a concede feature dramatically shortens the average game length and hence might hinder lategame testing, but i would still very much like to see it when the beta is over.

                    • I come from almost 1 k games of HoN and the concede feature is something that comes with pros and cons. A lot of times it helps you get out of a game which is doomed to fail BUT I played alot of games in which the games appeared to be lost but our carry got the farm needed, the enemy team became overconfident at one point, making mistakes pushing to much and we got back in game and won. The feeling of winning, what appeared a lost games, was amazing. So from this point I would say I like the no forfeit approach.

                      • no ff is ok, but you must punish leavers and afkers to convince them to play. Comend system could be an answer only if properly implemented and abuse is limited

i dont think we need that feature, at least not in the beta, mb when dota 2 is realsed this feature can be discussed again.

That's absurd. If it requires 5 people, everyone agreeing winning the game is unattainable, why demand it continue?

I don't really care if this feature waits until release, I'm just not sure why it should..
