I think they should make it, right now people just leave when they think they can't win.

I think its not necessary yet, but when the invite starts (those 100k players) its a must. Also there should be somewhat punishment for leavers, else the community will get even more broken.

As for forfeit function, it should be allowed only if kill difference is above 35, or difference in gold more than 20.000 (use the best out of gold graph!), or when 2 sides are down, etc.. I think 4 votes are enough to forfeit.

Having certian criterias that is in gold diffrenence or kill difference will just cause more grief imo, either by feeding or by just standing in the base afking.
What is more fun standing afk, or going dying untill you can cc? We need to put the conceding into the teams decision. We shouldn't force a team to play a match they do not want to play.

Only allow FF if the K/D difference is 20. Problem solved.

Its still managable to win, 25-30 is fine.

Also it should be disabled, when it hits the criteria make it enabled and only able to make a vote every 4-5 mins (to prevent spamming).

That kinda attitude clearly falls in the game ruining category and should be punishable, strictly.

When there is a 20 kill-death diff, the game is basically over. If the stomped team wants to FF, no use preventing them. They will keep dying (even if they dont want to). Some will leave the game. Some will go AFK. The winning team will have no fun either..playing 5v1 or 5v2.

It's a waste of resources to have someone review every forfeited game to see if the losing team died intentionally, and its really hard to tell if players died on purpose or are just bad if they are clever at all

And the loosing team wont have any fun being forced to die to be able to FF. Clearly if a whole team wants to FF why would they be forced to play to make the stats worse? Its not like the loosing team will from somewhere get their spirit back and turn back a game when 5 people thinks they are gonna loose. Sure it may have happend, but i thinks its worse to force a team to play when they clearly dont.

Apprantly you haven't played more than a couple games in this last week. I am even guity of it sometimes. I vote for no FF feature, if you want to want to give up, quit, and get banned for leaving (Needs to be implemented ASAP imo). Cool with me.

One other thing I hate about a forfeit feature is that it ruins games for the winning team. Part of the fun of dota imo is getting big items and dominating. Yeah, getting stomped isn't fun either, but its a balance imo.

                        How it should work:
Remake can be voted on in first 8 minutes.
After 35 minutes, forfeit option becomes available. All 5 must vote to concede at this point. Vote is open for 1 minute. If a player is disconnected for more than, say, 3 minutes, you only need 4.

I don't think it makes sense to activate it after a certain difference in kills or gold because like others mentioned, would cause feeding etc.

Thing is, who does it hurt? If people don't want to keep playing because they consider the game lost, they won't keep playing. They might not leave because of leaver protection, but they can start feeding, or just jungle while the enemy is pushing, or just straight up afk if they think they can get away with it(depends on rules enforced by valve and so on). What are your chances of winning if you were already losing and one of your player stop playing altogether? It's not fun for the winning team either, having to push up to the base with potentially 4people full turtling even though they have no chance of coming back, but due to height/tower advantage you have to go farm for 10mins to get enough items to push it and finish it. One person keeps 9 other into a game that has no point. Add verbal harassment/ping spamming/whatever other idiotic way to annoy people they can think of and it becomes even more frustrating for the people who want to play, when they could just start a new game and enjoy it more(or not ^^).

Sure sometimes we've seen huge comebacks. They can happen even with a surrender feature however. On the other hand, some games are simply not winnable. When you don't have a hard carry and one lane fed spectre or weaver or am or any type of hardcarry say 5-10kills, it almost doesn't matter if your other lanes are doing well. Worse if you have a leaver, while 4vs5 can be won sometimes, by 10mins you know if you'll be able to do it or not if 4vs5 simply because you can't afford to lose early game.

Make it a 5person required surrender at 20-25mins, meaning the entire team has to vote to give up(so if you think you can still make a difference, you can vote no and keep playing). Limit surrender votes to once every 1-2mins, to prevent spam and to reasses the situation(maybe even every 5mins so people get to see how it develops since the vote).

If 5 persons agree they'd rather lose and start a new game because this one is over, then they should.

Tools such as AFK kicking and Forfeiting shouldnt exist within the match making system, however I believe a RM system would be easy to maintain and very hard to abuse since it would require everyone in the game to agree.

                            An RM feature would be very useful especially in the case where someone either cannot connect properly due to some weird bug or have a fast way of getting a new player in if someone drops intentionally this can also be used in conjunction with an afk watcher, example;

player 1 afks for 5 or more minutes his vote is no longer needed in a RM request.

doubt anything will be added until later. the game is in "beta" what good is having games end prematurely because peopel are crying? you miss out on possible information leading to bugs that would be solved.

now for when its much more complete you could have such a system since indeed certain games are deemed over in certain cases due to players not having a ounce of clue of how to turn them around or its gotten to a late stage point of where the opposing team will simply out carry your lineup. of which the current 5man @ 15/[email protected] would be plenty fine.

I think that this is an absolute necessity for when the game is released (and would probably drive a lot of players away if it is not implemented), but I can understand it not existing in the beta. There is absolutely no fun in playing in a game you know you're going to lose, and if you're forced to do this for 20 minutes a game (as is often the case) then people will just find something else to play. People don't mind losing as long as it is quick and not a drawn out experience, and our goal should be to make losing as fun as possible.
