Judging from the last couple of pages I see no reason to keep the thread open any longer. No new suggestions or different point of views.

I dont understand why u want to force opposite team to play when every1 dont want to play? For example - we got ursa, lion and skeleton king. 2 min - roshan down, FB on bot, then 0\7 there, 2 kills on mid and 1 on top. 10 min - 1\10, most of them dont have even boots, 2 bot towers down and 1 tower down. 1 disconnected. And Ursa still hungry Then they asked as - how to surrender. Quastion - why they should continue to play? Pro dota players - are sadists or what?

There needs to be forfeit. Time Limit should be at or near to 20 minutes. That's generally long enough for most games to start having a decisive winner (especially with them pub stomps).

Since there is no FF, I have 32 forfeits because I refuse to waste my time losing. Ktnx

Here's an analogy that I feel suits the situation, you are stuck in a room you cannot escape as the door has been armed with explosives that cannot be defused(leaver status). This individual has broken your limbs(team fails, can no longer fight back) and is about to shoot you, as you are guaranteed to not survive( and you know it) would you want him to shoot you in the head and just end it or shoot you in the chest 5 times so you can die a slow painful death by bleeding to death?

concede will really work in certain circumstances, such as when you're teaming with 3 or 2 noobs, and you know even if your turtle or play safe for the entire game, its just not worth it to do a comeback cuz it will never work with noobs. but as i said, in certain circumstances. theres always exceptions

but i cudnt stress the fact that people's inclination towards giving up is gonna increase with this function. Well, still the same thing cuz its either "k ill afk until end gg" or "press concedeee"

Whether you like it or not , don't you think there is no better time to test these kind of options at this stage of the beta? better see if it work now than later.

Please stop responding as if I didn't suggest a solution that works for both camps, thanks.

I solo'ed Exclusively, and I bounced around from 1725 to 1825. Anyone that played HoN could tell you people were more concerned with their Kdr then anything else, unfortunately. As far as games played, a lot more then 700 probably more like 4000, or more lol. I am getting close to the 400 game mark in Dota 2 already.

In DotA2, they just want the other team to push so they AFK to end the game faster.

This is just my experience though, of course.
Wow, I have to say that is total bs, I am sorry. In HoN if the game looked bad they would save their precious stats and forfeit as soon as possible, NO WAY did your team valiantly make a last ditch effort running in to try and stop the loss with multiple deaths, because they knew they could forfeit in 7 minutes, LOL ahhahaha.

It is an analogy, and as such a tool for learning. I am just saying stop giving up so easily, try different stratagies learn to adapt.

I will tell you one thing, when you pull out that crazy ass win when you were down by 35 Kills, man, does it FEEL sooo much better then the win and dominate from the first horn of a game imho.

If you put a concede option in Kiss those epic comeback games goodbye, as we all know most of these kiddies playing this game would rather just CC, and try and stomp the next game.

I might as well chime in with my thoughts. Not having a concede option doesn't make any sense.

    The facts:

    1) Sometimes games are too far gone to make a come back. Why waste time for BOTH teams by not having a concede vote? Having a concede vote BENEFITS both the winning and losing team.
    2) Not having a concede vote promotes tons of griefing versus having one. Players on the winning team dragging the game out on purpose is not uncommon in pubs.
    3) Having no concede vote in the game only encourages mass leavers. Players on both the winning and losing team would prefer a concede vote instead of players abandoning the game before it is concluded.
    4) Players in this thread that oppose putting in a concede vote claim that people give up too easily. The truth is that some players give up too easily regardless of whether or not a concede vote is in the game. So this bears the question,
    A. Do you prefer having a player on your team giving up afk in the fountain and just plain refusing to participate for the remainder of the game?
    or
    B. Having the 'OPTION' to evaluate the game and concede a lost cause potentially saving everyone countless hours of precious free time?

I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of the player base favor choice B. I see absolutely no advantages to not having a concede vote in DotA 2. Only cons.

I don't see why the developers haven't taken this as an opportunity to make the game more accessible rather than dividing the community. Are there any real objections to building a concede (forfeit, surrender, etc.) function into the game and then allowing people to select whether or not they want to play in a game with it? If you are the type of player who would rather not be stuck in a game for 40 minutes after you think you've lost the game, then you can just check off the concede box. On the other hand, if you prefer to play a game out no matter what, and you hate it when the other team concedes before you get the chance to play the late-game, then you can uncheck the box.

When checked, this could just simply be the HoN concede mechanism (5 players early, 4 players late), but if something else is more reasonable then that's fine too. Whether I'm playing alone or with friends, I prefer there being a concede function, but if someone thinks differently then there's no reason why my solution should upset them. I have played casual and competitive DotA, and I think the solution above would make the game more enjoyable for everyone, not "destroy" it. Tournament organizers would be free to decide if they liked the built-in mechanism or if they prefer some other style of play, and the exact timing(s) allowed could change as the metagame evolves. Please let me know your thoughts, thanks.
