  • Ranked Matchmaking System doesn`t work well yet

hi. i would like to add an opinion to the matchmaking system, hopefully it would get read by someone and it`s taken into consideration.

First Dota 2 is a GREAT GAME. I`ve been a Dota player for years and years, and i must add that the matchmaking is awful!! I would say that 45% of the time my game sucks and it is always because someone doesnt know how to play or it is REALLY BAD (sometimes it is 2 or 3 persons and i must say that i agree with the people that knows how to play that the other ones are bad) i must add that i refer to the solo matches or when is a party of 2 or 3 persons.

I know that nobody can win all the time and that`s normal and i enjoy the games that i loose that are good and that i don`t loose because someone is feeding or doesnt know how to play.

Which brings me to my topic. Adding points has been a great decision, ranked matches, the matchmaking system SHOULD be more refine in this matches, that being said: sometimes there is a survey that asks if you`ve been cooperative or if your team was cooperative towards you, that`s good but it LACKS a lot. Why? Because sometimes it wasn`t the whole team that sucked, sometimes it wasn`t the whole team that worked as a team. That being said i`m sure (i don`t think it, i`m sure that it HAS to be more specific at least for some months till the matchmaking normalizes).

Now my opinion is that after each match, and it can be optional, people should be asked if they want to take the survey or not, or even better asked if they want to take the simple survey <the one that exists now> or the more specific one. In the specific one we should be able to rate the performance of each player, even yourself in a five star ratio and how did the team worked as whole <the one that exists now> that score should be taken into consideration in the matchmaking and in the points given after each game.

I know that there are trolls, and people that for hate or other reason won`t give the right score but it doesnt matter because after many games those bad scores (1 star for example) can be eliminated if the person plays really well and always get 5 or 4 stars. So you get my point if it`s always 2 or 3 stars the 1 star remains, he will keep going down until he gets to his right ladder and begins to earn those 5 or 4 stars (because even if he wins he might get 1 star or 2 or 3, that means he isn`t good the other ones are having a bad game because of him). People that ranked more than 1 time the same person (they won`t remember the name but it`s almost certain that he will give the same score) shouldn`t be put together.

Now some people might say that this is boring or annoying... IT`S RANKED, IT IS MORE IMPORTANT if you don`t mind loosing you should be finding a normal match not a ranked one (and remember they are asked if they want to take the specific survey or not). My idea lacks a few things but it can be perfected.

Also, the ladder should be specified, something like starcraft or lol (bronce, silver, gold, etc) or something like that. This part could be monetized by making tournaments (by solo or party) in each rank for example bronce tournament for the noobs, silver tournament for not so bad and so on. You as Valve, can take 30% of the pool money or i don`t know take as much you want and give a prize.

This is my humble opinion, the matchmaking system reaaaaally lacks and a LOT. Hopefully someone reads this and takes it as more than a suggestion. Fixing this issue would reaaaaally make glad a LOTTA people that loves the game and is competitive.

    Regards.

I'm going to assume you aren't a native english speaker, but yes I agree a survey would be good.

It would also be great if in-game scores were also analyzed. If I go 10-0 and my entire team goes 0-10,0-10,0-10,0-10 then I shouldn't be losing 25 points... I was clearly a stronger match vs. that team, but you simply can't win every game with a team of retards. Games like that you should only lose a point or two, not 25.

Your score really doesnt always reflex what happens in game. If you are the carry and everyone is sacrificing themselves so you can get all the kills, i guess that score would make sense. If they are 4manning without you, and if you were with them it would make a difference, then you and them are just on different pages and you are losing because of it. If you are the one who would make a difference and you aren't, doesn't matter your score, you are the reason you are losing.

The surveys do not make any difference on who you play against i believe. You can also not take them if you want, theres a button below it written "no, thanks."

Honestly, just take it easy and relax.

first time i played dota2, the game seems a bit balanced , but now is just ridiculous.

FYI , pudge is lvl 360 and omni is lvl 36.

pudge lvl 3 already ganking , meanwhile my omni sitting on top lane doing nothing .

we ask him to ward and you know what he said : " yeah blame me , i supporting sniper , i dont take last hits " .. facepalm..

like i said , most of them dont know how to dota

I just got to 4.3k mar from 3.8k and that's the hint I can try go give you:
never blame others for your losses, always try to blame yourself and find what you could have done better.
Good players aren't such because they win already won games, but instead because they win actually HARD games, otherwise you would just sit at 50% win rate and that's the rating you'd deserve. Some games are just unwinnable but that must not be an excuse since there's nobody who has 100% win rate. Analyze your play, watch replays, try to get better and you'll notice your win rate will improve dramatically (given you are actually a decent player).

@ Post Human- playing in a stack is something different, even if its a stack of 2. Try to raise such ammount of MMR in solo and come back again.
