Thanks.. turns out I am shadowbanned, I use sandboxie to bet with multiple accounts on D2l, although I did dual box for the year beast event a few times

    • oh...I remember now.

this is the new decline/dodger date/count. If you fail to accept or decline a match or fail to load, you get 2 min, 5 min etc ban for mm search, right? The date refers to that duration.
The count refers to number of declines (and fail to load etc) afaik.

So this has very little to do with multi instance on same pc issue.

I understand about bot/farm etc but punishing legitimate users who wanna watch all TI matches (I have multiple monitors) is not right.

Sorry to say: its your own damn fault.

The only thing, i want to ask valve devs is: Why doesnt it show a ban message like vac dose?

                • @kingcharlie:

Most people who are running 2 instances of Dota 2 at the same are item farming. Be it by watching tournament games or having bots play games.

There are some legit use but that's very rare. The issue with item farmers have to be adressed. There will be always collateral damage.
If you have a better way of dealing with item farmers please tell. Currently the International is running and it is very easy to run multiple instances of Dota watching tournament games. With the auto spectate feature the optimal condition of idling is set.

I think Valve also jumped the gun here, they just insta ban those who are caught running multiple instances of Dota 2. I think they should've added measures such as were they recorded to have a match ID which they were in together?

Twitch seems to not exist for you i see...

There is always a reason on why some one was banned

                      • I think that Valve MUST unban every one and announce that using multiple dota 2 running is forbidden. It is Valve's 100% fault.

Doesnt mean shit. I have 2 accounts which have numbers higher than "0" on both commands, yet i can find matches with those accounts just fine.

                          • Solved: Create a new account and wait for this to be resolved.
                            To avoid LPQ:

                            Don't draw attention to yourself
Don't use voice or chat except for 'ss'
                            Mute all at lvl 1
                            Only play in parties
                            Get alternate accounts
Limit your usage to one or two games per day per account
                            Don't play too well
Don't play on Sunday or Monday
Wait until the developers reset LPQ status

If you're getting matched with trolls or feeders:

You may have been placed in a hidden pool. There is no known way out of this, apart from moving to a different account.

While I understand that this fixes the botting issue for MM, it hurts a lot of people who use it for trading, bets, or to watch multiple dota games at the same time. Sure, I could use multitwitch etc, but the in game spectator is far superior for checking on games that you have bets on, since you can check the gold/xp/items etc in a few clicks, instead of muting/unmuting and hoping the casters check/say what you would like to know quickly. As for tournament item farming, this doesn't even affect it since you can still spectate games fine. Not to mention that this has existed issue free since the beginning of Dota 2, and was highly recommended to use for trading between accounts (before offline trading), as well as to speed up betting for multiple D2L accounts.

If Valve can't/won't allow legitimate use of this anymore, or are unable to isolate just the bot abusers they could have given warnings with a MMR reset instead of shadow banning everyone. The MMR reset would result in all abusers losing their rating, and would be unable to get as high as before since further use would result in shadowbanning or full Vac bans. Meanwhile people who used this for legitimate means can stop using it (although I would rather a option that it be allowed for trading/bets/spectating), and simply have to play 10 calibrating games to get back to their normal MMR ratings. While this doesn't help the couple in the reddit thread, Steam support could handle those on a case by case basis, since it would be pretty easy to tell if they are using bots to boost themselves, or are legitimate people playing together.
