            - Not just that but the way the polygons are distributed on this new model, the deformation is so much more smoother. I am quite certain you do not understand what deformation is. So let me explain it to you. When a model moves in an animation, the polygons bend. The more polygons in a particular area will allow for smoother and more natural effect. The new model is rigged with more or less the same animations as the older one but they adjust much better now. | Wireframe, Notice the pelvis and armpits

            - Textures: So much more refined and efficient. Not only did they lower the technical requirements to boot in by lowering UV space but also did a nice split so enough detail on the more important parts of the model get priority. For eg: look at the older body texture. Double the size but half the detail and sooo much dead space. | Preview

            - Animations and Particles: They actually fine tweaked the particles so the new model interacts with it correctly. The animation rigs have similar key framing but the new rig actually allows for the animations to look quite neat. I could go into more detail here too but at this point I feel it's just a bloody waste of time telling you.



            I could bore you with even more super details but at least next time remember I don't generally speak out of my ass. Mostly.
            Anyone who has a basic sense of how 3d modeling works can tell you that Valve did a mighty fine job with the new model when compared to the old one. That was fucking ancient.

              • Probably the worst part of this remake is now I want them to go back and do the same thing to relatively fine looking heroes like Chaos Knight, Windranger, Drow and Lich. All of them are ok, but their textures could use a nice clean up, especially Drow and CK, they're kind of muddy.

                    Adding CM glue hand, small feets, abnormal shoulder (most cosmetic try to cover the shoulder to hide this one), nightmare underskirt.

                          • Good texture upgrade with slight differences at best. NOT a remodel. Certainly not something that would take more than a couple of weeks to "conceive" and create. Let alone all those months.

                              it probably took so long because
                              1. It was pretty low priority over new heroes and Source 2
                              2. They had no idea what to even do with Void since his original model and design were fine
