No, health bars are already implemented in d1. You just need to go trough the game options and see what is avalible. And no, I don't think having health bars off by default is a good idea, its one of THE MOST important informations you get visually - what's someone HP and it should be visible at all times.

Imagine, you see an akkasha at rune. You are like "ok, I can't fight this", but in reality, he is 1 hit away from death and he wants the regen rune. I don't want to personally attack you, but think about it - your suggestion is silly

And plz finally make color gradation for it like green yellow red.
This is what I came here for. Please, pretty please, make this an option in game! It makes last hitting easier to learn and health bars more pleasing to eye. OP has a good point, but this is more important.

    +1 very annoying problem.

in general: at start of a new map with up to 4 heros in the middle of a creepwave, you cant see anything

what if instead the health bars just snapped to the top/bottom of one another so that one never covers another?
Just like it was at dota 1. Also dota 1 used color coding hp bars so it can be easier to be seen.

Really this needs a fix, its poor game design the way it is now.

yeah there was that too. it was always such that 2 bars will never completely cover one another

    hmm, i like the suggestion.
somehow, i remember that this wasnt a big problem of dota 1...cant remember why...

edit: oh right, the bars were larger in general and it was color coded.
