  • [Suggestion] Don't record Losses

Well, people might think "wtf", but I wonder all the time already what the benefits of showing you your amount of losses is?
It's maybe a little destructive, and people will try to get more wins than losses. But on a good working matchmaking system even good players won't necessarily have more Win's then Losses. In fact, for everyone of you who has more Wins than Losses there is someone who has more Losses than Wins. So that stat isn't really worth that much.
I just find it a little demotivating that the game always shows how often I failed and I don't really think that this is necessary.
You could still make the Losses somewhere visible, but it should require you to want to see it^^
Well, maybe this is just my opinion...

Added a poll so there is some use in this thread^^

For your information: The W:R ratio does NOT indicate how good you are or how good you're doing!

    Sure.

SC2 does something like this for players below Master League, and it's kind of nice to not have that sort of thing public for various reasons. I kind of wish there was an option for not showing losses even beyond diamond at some points.
Being able to view them yourself should definitely be possible, though.

You poor thing. We all have losses, there's no need to be delusional about it. Use them as a reminder and improve if you don't like them so much, this is what all people should do instead of talking smack about their teammates and hiding behind "I play for fun!".

I never understood why them implemented this in SC2. I don't see how it matters since you can tell their skill-level from what league they're in anyway.

The thing is, whatever you're doing and how pro you are, you will still almost have the same percantage of lost games as before... if the mm is working right.

Almost, yes, but not always. And that's not what I'm talking about, you shouldn't be running from a loss. If it discourages you then you shouldn't be playing this game in the first place.

The thing is that I don't really understand why the losses are shown?
My friend stopped playing Furion because he got no losses with him and don't want to ruin his statistics^^
I think a lot of people are affected by these stats.

The same reason why wins are shown, it's a competitive game. For me loss is a reminder of how badly I played that one game, or how I improved after certain amount of time and started to lose less, stuff like that. Without losses I won't know how good I play in general. Yes, there's a lot of factors in it, people that disconnected and ruined your statistic, etc, but it still applies.

A lot of people are affected by winning and losing because it is a competitive game. I lost a lot of drive in SC2 once losses were removed, and haven't gone back to it. Winning and losing is a part of your life, along with success and failures. Hiding it doesn't make them go away, they're a part of you as a player.

If you go down the argument of "Matchmaking should make it 50/50, so you can tell what losses you should have", why stop there? Just show the number of games you've played and divide that by 2.

I agree with this. I got too much loss (20 time more than win) and it make me feel bad when I see it. It's not a really bad feeling but it's not a good feeling anyway.

Maybe you should try and improve a little? This way you won't have to feel bad.

Stats have nothing to do with gamplay. I have no idea why people seem to care so much about them. EIther way I don't care what valve does with stats.

sometimes it's good to have such stats as public

that way you can know which ones of your friends need help to improve their skills without outright asking them how much they suck.

I got too many game with feeder and noob and I swear that I'm not a feeder myself.

Yesterday I got 6 games in a row with 2-3 feeders in my team and they don't even listen when go for the team fight.

even last game that I win I group up with 3 feeders and I can make it(to win) by playing Rikimaru(that I don't like to play carry)

So what this loss show ? How many time I group up with noob player ?
