  • Its funny how the 10x10 map solves behavioral...

Its funny how the Dota2 10x10 map solves most behavioral issues that plague the regular dota2 matches.

Solves may not be exactly the term, but the thing is mostly nobody (few cases except) loses time complaining or trolling or lecturing/fighthing with teammates over whatever problem (playing bad or support/courier or what have you).
For once most players join the 10x10 map and play it for the crazy/funny setup it brings.

I mean, the 10x10 isn't exactly "fair", heroes are not balanced for the increased number/pace of gameplay, leavers don't give the gold to the team or get any abandon punishment, system doesn't tries to 'calibrate' teams, plus many other issues.

Still, besides the problems that map is where anyone can play dota2 without risking a headache.

I'm tempted to say that even if that map was introduced as a regular mode *BUT* balanced for a 10x10, it would remain a great Dota2 experience while benefiting from the fairness that makes regular matches more enjoyable (gold from leavers, less abandons, hero rebalance, etc).

    I remember dota 1 mod 6x6.
We thought it was for 2 heroes for every lane LOL

Most players never care what meta to apply on their heroes during the battles because they can easily get a number of kills in the game. If you play 10v10 for quite many times, you will notice a lot of players will pick support-type heroes but still no efforts to support the team. I am not sure how players in other servers behave but that's what I experienced in SEA server, maybe different regions have different behaviours...it's still better than the regular Dota match because players can gain "KILL SCORE" as they want/like. In regular match, you should feel a lot of players always want to achieve the highest "KILL SCORE", I still can feel it till today ~

Either Kyril or somebody else, where would be the right place to suggest some maintenance for the 10x10 map?

Creator is "Dota 2 Official" so it was made by devs?

Map is very fun but has obvious drawbacks that happen and/or people exploit on purpose all the time
And most of these can be easily prevented/fixed.

Either here in misc or in http://dev.dota2.com/forumdisplay.php?f=484 . This topic is really a bit of a problem. The more custom maps Valve develops the more maintenance they'll have to do to keep stuff running. Maybe they should hand it over to some known map creators, but I don't see this happening.
If you think I've closed or deleted a post unjustified, feel free to PM me and I'll explain it to you/discuss it with you further.

in honest truth 10 v 10 shouldnt be added to the main client its too hectic and wild but a smaller version like 7x7 or 8x8 could be doable. and a known meta could evolve even in competitive

I think you missed the point, being hectic is the whole idea of the 10x10. Its the closest thing to a Team Fortress 2 match inside dota. No worries, no complaints, just fun
