That Carl seems to be the biggest problem. I would mute or report him.

VALVE will never do something like this. Do you really think a company this big will forbid players from playing where they want, when they want and with whoever they want? Hey, it's a free game, free to play, in a free world.

Everything that could be done to ensure a fun game they did. They add ping/drawing/chat wheel so you can communicate with people even if they don't speak english/russian/etc (thing you guys didn't even use; and don't lie, I know you guys don't use chat wheel), create especific region servers so you lag less and gave tons of free invites so you can invite a bunch of friends to play with.

Now, even with all this, a russian/brazillian/american/canadian trash talk and flame you, use the report system.

So suck less, QQ less, be good and stack with friends if you hate russians so much.
When will you baboons realize the chat wheel issue is not because we don't use it, it's because THEY don't use it.
I'm against region locking as well, it's way too harsh. But something has to be done.

As for the report system? Don't make me laugh. I've reported a gargantuan amount of players for 0 communication/flame/spam and I've only seen under 10 actually getting put in LPQ and I'm sure they got it for other reasons, like leaving games.

Suck less? QQ less? Are you saying that you haven't enjoyed a game even if one of your teammates fed like mad? I just start chatting on all with everyone else (who respond in kind if they are not the type of people everyone hates in this thread) and have jokes and giggles for the rest of the game and everyone has a great time.

Stack with friends? Why do I need friends to play the game? What is this, Facebook?

AND nobody in here is aiming their hate at Russians as a whole or in particular. It's at the people who refuse to communicate. Everyone keeps saying it's the Russians because that's the first Slavic language that comes to mind.

I don't know what server this is, but if it is EU, then do you find that right? Why do you think Outworldzilla is a native english speaker? He can be polish, czech, german or w/e and he is typing in english to try to communicate. Right now in western dota there are like 2 languages english and russian like 99.9%, but actually there are 100+ more languages and speakers to them. Can you imagine if everybody starts assuming everybody speaks their language?

If this is Russian server - I apologize and agree with you.

"Refusing to communicate" isn't VALVE problem. They gave all the tools to improve the communication, but if there's people who doesn't use, that's the player problem.

So what now, do you wanna ban people who doesn't own (or simply doesn't wanna use) a mic or likes to play listening to music? You're expecting too much from pubs.

Also, pros plays listening to music, chatting in the stream window, doing silly builds/trolling and didn't type a single "b" in the entire game. They should be banned, then?

there are English-speaking idiots just fyi, you just don't notice them because they blend into the crowd

region lock might sorta solve the language barrier, but you'd still play with idiots

I'd just like to have a voluntary language check for us english-speaking people. People who pass the test will be allowed to check an option to only play with people who have accomplished the test. No region lock in such a model would then be neccessary, as is being portrayed here: http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?...743#post404743

People playing from US/UK naturally wouldn't have to partake in such a test, possibly even Nordic countries as the knowledge of English is pretty good here generally, as the level of education is quite high in here.

I played DotA and Dota 2 for years, and i don't see a reason why russian players should not talk to each other on chat. In most games chat is used ONLY for flame, and i don't remember a game when i need to "communicate" something other than ss ,"go roshan", "def", or "push". (for most of them you can use ping). Also, is not like you tell something to "english player" and he will do this, most the time he just ignore you same way like "russian"(also in most case they know english)

You don't see why they shouldnt be able to talk to each other in the chat? Well let me tell you why:

They don't talk to English people in English. Ever. When they do, they Flame and use such things as "your mother" jokes.

Learn russian if you want know what they are saying to each other. They probably ain't talking to you anyway and if so theres nothing easier to ignore than a language you don't understand.

Exactly, if i want talk to English people i use English, if I play with friend i use Polish because i want to talk with him, not with everyone on chat. Flamers are problem in every languages, also trolls, you just have problem with Russian trolls, not normal Russian players.

I dont say a word in plenty of pubs and still win.
Pings, Chatweel, checking other people builds and making your decisions according to that is all you need.

Russians suck they should be restricted to their own server and anyone refusing to use language that his teammates understand should be reportable. LoL has refusing to communicate reason for reporting and they don't even have russian problem there.

See, this is what I hate aswell. I'm a Russian myself but I play properly and speak english just fine. I don't que up on Russian servers or Europe West because of Russians. They ruin my games and I don't even want to speak in that language to them. Aswell as if I play on US/West or US/East I almost expect everyone to speak english, and no other language!

The main reason why I hate Russians in Dota 2 is because how they ruin that language. They don't use any senseful words other than "fuck yourself, go to hell, suck a dick" and so forth. Region lock please! I live in Sweden so it shouldn't be a problem of me being locked to the awful Russian region..
