  • [Suggestion] In-game party chat/voice chat ?

Hey all, I was wondering since there is an "all" and "allies" chat (like D1, and like, every game ever) why not take it a step further with regards to the party system and add the option of having "party" chat (and voice). From what I recall, in HoN you were able to use voice just for your lane as a separate hotkey and that was handy if your primary language was not English but you didn't want to bother your allies with illegible stuff (for example, my Greek), and used "allies" chat just to communicate with your *entire* team, not just the guys in your party.

I know Steam allows you to have group voice chat in the client, and was wondering if something like that could be implemented in Dota 2 : a separate chat channel for "party" (with a shortcut like ctrl + enter) and a separate voice channel as well. That would offer the communication you get from having a third-party program like Skype open with your mates minus the latency/system performance hit you'd get by using it. This suggestion is basically the feature you get from using a third-party program, just with the added extra channel you can access in-match.

I don't think it would hurt to have such an option, right ?

My suggestions for Dota 2 :
Designating Captains, Challenge Maps/Skill Training, A Suggestion for Stats., In-match party chat & voice

Personal wishlist : Auras, Weather, -EM, Sleeping neutrals, rest of neutrals implemented. And bring back Basher for all

Best suggestion of all - a mod API for Dota 2 : solves 95% of suggestions...

This. I hate using teamspeak to chat just with my party.
