  • Plz change the TP colors, to "the actual color of the hero Teleporting"

I find it sometimes confusing to determine which hero is using a TP scroll, due to the fact that each TP looks the exact same, except for the color of the outermost ring of the TP'ing hero.

I propose that the "whole color" of the TP be changed to the "whole color" of said hero TP'ing. ...Thus when ORANGE uses a TP, the entire color of the animation is ORANGE! Instead of a universally light-blue TP animation with just an Orange ring around it.

Yes, it's hard to tell which hero is using TP, simply by seeing the color of the TP-ring.

No, recognizing the color of the ring (during TP is enough).

I don't know how it is with colourblind people or in the colourblind mode but for me, as a guy with decent eyes, I haven't had any problems with realizing which colour the incoming TP is and recognizing which enemy hero to connect to the incoming colour.

The 90% problem occurs when light blue uses the TP, or some other light color similar to blue... Etc... Everyone knows what a TP looks like; yet the information displayed while TP'ing is so inadequate it's just unacceptable.

I certainly wouldn't mind it. I don't have too much difficulty telling who is teleporting, but it would be a nice addition.

Haha, when Orange uses a TP I always think Wisp's going to ult

How is it the game's fault that you didn't pay attention?

that's more like a problem with the colors used rather than a problem with the animation. I think light blue is too similar to aqua or whatever that other color is.

The color for vomit yellow-orange on dire really doesn't match the hero color very well. I look up at the hero bar at the top of the screen to check who is TPing in and it takes me a second to match the color sometimes because of how far off it is.

If there were color patches on the heroes like in DOTA, this would be a lot better, but whatever.

Valve just needs to come up with 10 DISTINCT colors that are used every match. I think part of the problem is, there are more than 10 diff. colors, but since at no point will you ever have more than 10 players in a match, I don't see why they don't just pick 10, easily identified colors and be done with it. Sometimes there's pink, sometimes there's royal blue, sometimes there's purple and brown... stop 'mixing it up' and just pick 10 and use those same 10 every game.

To the OP: Check your eyes. I have not once been confused about who is TPing in/out whatever. The color ring is easy to identify.

Also, Wisps ult TP is a bright red on the mini-map, easy to distinguish from all other player colors. I've never had a problem identifying it. In fact, I'd say Wisps ult TP is so shockingly red, he's really easy to catch trying to make a play because it catches my eye so well when he does it.

Hero? Orange? You really tell me you don't use portraits on minimap?

Will I get made fun of if I admit I didn't know the TPs were color-coded in any way whatsoever until now? If they are going to bother color-coding them, it should be a little more obvious.

I dont know what you are talking about. The colors are the same every game.

Each team has 5 fairly distinct colors, but some of the colors across 2 teams are not distinct. The blue and teal TP colors look extremely similar, and the orange and yellow/vomit orange pair also look very similar on tp. These colors also don't closely match the color bar at the top, under the hero portrait, so it can be confusing to quickly check who is porting in.

Because some colors are similar across teams, it can sometimes be confusing to tell whether an ally or an enemy is tping in. If boots of travel are used near a friendly tower, it can look like backup when it is death.

I find I have more problems with this after switching to minimap portraits. There is nothing to link a hero to a color except the TP animation and the bar under the portrait, if you can't see the colored dots on the minimap. I am considering switching back.

Will I get made fun of if I admit I didn't know the TPs were color-coded in any way whatsoever until now? If they are going to bother color-coding them, it should be a little more obvious.
This is the OP's point exactly. I don't really agree with it but it seems that more than a few people do not find it obvious, so maybe I'm wrong and it needs to be made into a more noticeable effect.
