  • Let people know why they are in the LPQ

I think a large part of the LPQ issue is because people simply don't know why they are punished. In most cases they simply broke the rules and got reported.
Being punished for something, but not knowing what specifically you got punished for, (griefing, feeding, trashtalk, voicechat abuse) isn't a great punishment and people get put into the LPQ, thinking that it was for no reason.

Valve doesn't really want to "punish" players, because: If they really would like ti punish people; the LPQ wouldn't exist and people would be banned for a considerable period instead. I've never been a huge fan of banning people so I fully support the LPQ.
But the players here feel punished as soon as they are in the LPQ and it perhaps would make it easier for them to know why.

    Example:
If you get into the LPQ because you trashtalked in 1 or 2 games, you should be notified by a message like:

"You have violated the text-chat rules and been reported:
    Match ID: 111111111
    Match ID: 111111112
You are therefore in the Low Priority Queue for a brief amount of time"

When people know why they are "punished" the chance is more likely that they won't do this behavior again.
It would make discussions about the LPQ system fairly easier if people knew themselves why they are in the LPQ. If the reporting system really would be automatic, it would be quiet more easy to spot false reports.

    TL;DR:
Discuss: would it be good to let people know why they are put into the LPQ or not?
Never underestimate the power of the masses.

I think you're wrong. In most cases, people know exactly why they got into low priority, but just want to play dumb or naive.

I support this. they deserve to know, if it was abuse(voice/text) or any other reason they got pushed into low priority. It helps to improve the community

Since Report system automated for now, this system only makes you even more mad. You'll see a false report and get mad. Thats all you can do with this system now..

According to the devs the system is NOT automated, making this quite usefull (either the correct report or you see the problem of the system).

Yes it would... but what makes you think that there is a reason available to the system other than the one already given?
Why do you think that more detailed reasons aren't already given?

                        To avoid LPQ:

                        Don't draw attention to yourself
Don't use voice or chat except for 'ss'
                        Mute all at lvl 1
                        Only play in parties
                        Get alternate accounts
Limit your usage to one or two games per day per account
                        Don't play too well
Don't play on Sunday or Monday
Wait until the developers reset LPQ status

If you're getting matched with trolls or feeders:

You may have been placed in a hidden pool. There is no known way out of this, apart from moving to a different account.

Many games don't tell you what exactly you did wrong. Depending on how you do it, it also takes extra implementations, so it's more work instead of only saying, he is guilty. Not a big thing, but propably not worth it.

The reason already given is "reports or abandons".

I'm fairly sure the system can tell both whether it was due to abandons (since devs have confirmed that on these forums for the occasional person) and what the most common report category was.

As for why it doesn't already give more detailed reasons, I'm not quite sure what your point here is. It seems to be a question you could ask about any other feature people want.
