  • Merge Gold and EXP difference graphs

    Not sure where to post that, so i post it here and mods will move it later if needed

    So, I watch a lot of competitive Dota2 games, inside game and on streams...And i think since there is only 2 graphs it will be much more convenient to merge them into one.

    Something like this:



    Checkboxes will make possible to disable one graph if needed (if you disable 2nd when 1st already disabled, it should enable 1st). I think it will improve caster/viewer experience a little bit.

    Feedback will be appreciated.

            Good suggestion. One more thing I'd like to see is difference between xp/gold gained by each team as number.
            "Radiant: 96870. Dire: 114780. Diff.: 17910." - something like that.

              The gold and xp difference could even be used to give a probability of victory by referencing it against previous matches. I'd like that feature, but I'm sure others might object.
              To avoid LPQ:

              Don't draw attention to yourself
              Don't use voice or chat except for 'ss'
              Mute all at lvl 1
              Only play in parties
              Get alternate accounts
              Limit your usage to one or two games per day per account
              Don't play too well
              Don't play on Sunday or Monday
              Wait until the developers reset LPQ status

              If you're getting matched with trolls or feeders:

              You may have been placed in a hidden pool. There is no known way out of this, apart from moving to a different account.

                Yeah instead of 2 columns, have a middle column showing the difference.

                    i think they should keep the individual graphs and just add this one as well. this version is harder to interpret at a glance but is more useful overall

                    lets also consider that often the difference between one of them is much smaller than the other and can make reading them together much harder

                    for example, if the exp difference is only 500 but the gold difference is 20,000. as you could imagine, graphing both of those on the same graph would make for a hard to read graph

                      you can temporary disable one of them using checkboxes, graph scale should adjust fore remaining one...

                        yes but thats clunky and counter intuitive. it would be easier just to add an extra hotkey for the combined graph

                            Awesome Idea, I think it has been brought up before, but now that the graph feature had some test time already, it's obvious that as an spectator you always want to see both graphs, at the moment you have to check one, close and then check the other. Having both on the same graph will ease casters lifes too.

                            I'm gonna use this thread to make this suggestion too, seeing as we are talking about improving the Gold/XP graphs:

                            Show Net-Worth Graph (I'd even go further and say this could replace Gold Earned without any downside)

                            As it is now, "Gold Earned" is a decieving graph, because it doesn't count gold loss from deaths/buybacks/wards/gem or even complex things like selling an item to buy another, or losing a Rapier.

                            There's many times you see a "10k gold advantage" game turn around, but actually both teams have the same Net Worths. Being teamwiped lategame results in a bigger "gold swing" that it's shown now (because it's not only that one team earns gold from deaths, but the other team also loses gold for dying and having to buyback to defend a rosh/rax)

                            This problem obviously doesn't happen with the XP Graph, because you never lose XP.
