It appears a popular sc2 publically shared a dota2 account, does this mean sharing is okay? or it's loosely enforced.

Its rly frustrating that i gave away my 2 extra invites and now we are only 3 here. Cant even build a full team whilst my other 2 friends still dont have any.
I asked the same question on every forum but imo we should be happy even with those 2

I play from two separate locations, Work & Home (The steam keyring thing always verifies these two locations as well without issue). I assume if there's a system in place looking for odd regional ip switches it would see these same two IP's in the same town consistently but then again if it came down to "You can only ever use one IP" then I would certainly choose home. But hey I have at least a grand tied up in my steam account and payment information and so..... haha ya no way would I ever share but I've noticed a few people in groups and things that have literally no other activity on their account which seems a bit odd.

              Hello,

My account has been suspended because someone has tried to access my account. I'm using my Steam for multiple computers myself (recently I was using it from a lot of wine installations to run it on my MAC as you can see I have a thread for that).

Yesterday I received 3 emails for someone trying to retrieve my password and today my account is being suspended. I already post a ticket on steam support.

              Heeelp! :-)

You need to go through Steam Support to resolve issues like this. They are usually really fast about turning this sort of thing around.

Post a support question. I'm still waiting to receive answer to mine (more than 24h passed).

Does anyone know where we can see the steam support average response time?

Looks like a hard way to learn the lesson not to give anyone your password - Hopefully Steam support can straighten you out!

ok, since i'm not into the secrets of suspending accounts, i'll just throw around what i think is happening:

1- you can't lock people who login from different places, since they could be using VPN or something....
2- you can't lock people who play 30 hours a day, since such people actually exist.

therefor you can only lock people who have a high abandoned rate, and are logging in from multiple places, including the fact that all the abandoned games were happening from a specific place, you also look at the way the player left the match, has he dc'd and got a leaver penalty, or did he rage quit the game.

5 years since Arabic language bug reported. I randomly open icefrog's weaboo to check for meracles. Suddenly, short tweet appears Icefrog is active. Eyes fill with tears as i quickly open dev.dota2.com and i start to cri when i see he is replying to shitposts again. My clenching anus is twitching in pure joy as i spam the different boards with threads about the 5 year old bug. "weew" i wisper to myself, My heart is jumping outta my chest, but Im calm because s t i a n n o g e b t h g i r l a.

I don't share my account because I had other games than DotA 2, but I have friends that asked me to share it, so they can try it.
Naturally I didn't, I let them play in my PC. But I wonder if people who receive their keys in the 4000 given for chrismass will receive gifts so they can invite their friends in the near future?
                            Sorry for my english.

Not now. May be in future, may be not. Also, wrong thread to ask.

The closest Ive been to sharing is letting my brother play dota on my computer while I watched. A day later I managed to get a key for him and other 2 friends. So now, we actually play together when we our "schedules" match.

What I think of this is Do not lend your account and password to anyone. They want to play, put the password for them and be near the computer while they play.

Now that me and my brother and 2 friends, we might consider lanning, so if I go to their place and set up there with my older laptop, I hope Steam can determine that I used my laptop alot for playing before I built my pc, so I won't be flagged.

What if I go to my friends house (he has Dota 2) and I log in with my account (So I can keep track of my stats). That is not going to trigger a false alarm is it?
