  • Console and Bind Settings

We recently released the new Settings Panel and are looking for feedback. Are there any useful binds or console settings you feel should be in the UI?

the right click on minimap delay (to avoid movement commands registering on minimap clicks) variable and the right click deny variables both seem pretty popular

Center on hero with a single key is a commonly requested one that should be easy enough to make a toggle setting for.

        hero specific binds
saveable on .cfg's and on steam cloud
I hate people that put their Rig specs in the signature. This is not overclock.net!
        CPU: AMD Trainwrecker AM5+ 12150 hexacontatetra-core 1.65 Thz | RAM: Corsair Revenge 4TB DDR6 (0.24-0.24-0.36) | GPU: Sapphire 9990 128GB GDDR9 Hexa-Fired (0.65/0.95/1.1Thz) | Resolution: @ 20480x12800
        Connection: - Telus: (70MB/10MB)
All Specs shown in the signature are fictitious, any resemblance to real hardware, current or obsolete, is purely coincidental

Alt+[number] to say something to team/say all.
ex: Alt+1 = push Alt+2= back, Alt+3=roshan Alt+3= get the hell out of there etc.

GUI access to dota_force_right_click_attack and dota_disable_range_finder would be nice =D. Also binding specific items rather than positions for store hotkeys.

The ability to disable alt+click (not on the minimap) from pinging. Coming from HoN I have my inventory bound to alt+qwe and I am constantly pinging when I eat a tree, blink dagger, teleport, etc.

Could you please let us enable the console in this new settings panel? It's always a big ordeal with my friends to get them to enable the console out of game.

Also, having dota_force_right_click_attack and dota_minimap_misclick_time as settings would be great, as those are very commonly used console commands.

The hotkey is there, but the console is not actually enabled by default. In all other Source games, you have to find an option to enable it, usually under keyboard settings. However, no such option is yet in game, so you have to enable the console out of game first. It should be an easy fix to hook up a setting to con_enable 0 and 1 for Valve.

that's pretty simple to do for them, just changing con_enable to 1 by default when the config is created. though its not exactly a feature for the average user nor really required by default. kinda a coin flip if they actually change that.
