Pudge sounds too jolly and not rotten corpse-ish enough. He needs more gruff.

We had the same discussion about Axe...
I think that he is great, the way he is voiced is just amazing. I love it. He is just jolly man happy to do his job.
And combo "COME TO PUDGE", "AHA FRESH MEAT", "OH LOOOOOOOK A SPAAAAAAAARE RIB" always makes me laugh maniacaly.

I think that people should deal with the fact that Valve is too smart to do ultramegabaddasdarknes4ever characters, nobody ever likes those and nobody will recognize them.

Even dead, rotting bodies retain their hair for a while before it completely falls off with the skin. And, honestly, I LOVE Pudge's design. It has character and makes him more unique and recognizable than some random Abomination from WC3. Now, he's Pudge the Butcher; not Random Abomination from WC3. You can do fan art of Pudge now and people will instantly recognize him instead of, "Oh, he's an Abomination. Wait, no, he's throwing a hook, it must be Pudge!" And I think that kind of recognizable unique character and silhouette is what Valve should aim for for every character.

    Agreed, Forgroe and pulkunus.

Pudge's voicework + lines are among the best in the game, I believe. (Which kinda sucks because I think that every voice should be equally lovable) Yeah, Pudge's morbid sense of humor is what makes him; and totally matches his new hairdo. He does better as an enthusiastic, creepy, living-flesh eating, stitched up mess of a man than a xhardcorex, evil, brainless abomination type. His current personality has more... well, personality. Plus, he's creepier with the fact that he IS so jolly about his gruesome choice of profession.

"Ahh, nothing better than a nice, raw liver."

Pudge has some of the best voice acting in the game.

... And that's saying something since all the voice acting in this game is pretty epic to me.
I can remember at the internationals watching and seeing pudge land a hook in epic teamfights when a guy was trying to escape.... "Come to pudge!"

    So epic.

Pudge's voice is one of the best imo.

Just being dark and xhardcorex makes everything seem bland and unreal. Pudge's personality in his voice is more realistic, demented and dark. There is more substance to Pudge's voice than a lot of other heroes!

    brooklyn? english?

Seriously? Pudge has an aussie accent... Comon. :/

OK, guys. Pudge is done nicely in DotA 2, but he still need his epic "FRESH MEAT" accompanied by the sounds of chopping blades, instead of disguising "FRESH MATE". Yes, he's not a rotten corpse like it was in WC3 DotA, but he's a horrifying Butcher, who can eat you alive. More severity is needed.

Having played a lot of TF2, john patrick is forever the TF2 Sniper to me.
His voice doesn't seem glutteral enough to be pudge. As a reference here's the original pudge; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxBJazbNB5A
He's probably going to get a voice acting job in every valve games ever, he maybe has special arrangements or something. I don't think i alone can make valve change the voice acting. Maybe valve thought we'd enjoy cross-games references, we already got the companion cube saying "silence" when trying to cast spells while silenced and such.
I don't like this voice acting choice but i'll tolerate it, atleast John Patrick puts some enthusiasm in his quotes (all decent voice actors do, really)

They should keep everything from the Wc3 Mod. Every Hero should have same looking with better graphics and effects ofc but pudge sounds like a mentally challenged british dude. Not funny and not scary enough for such a badass he was in Dota 1.
