  • So Necrolyte has Syphilis? The dirty dawg.

    The lines...

"There shall be chancres by the acres"
    "More chancres"

I had to look up what a chancre was, but I thought I had a good idea. Some kind of sore? Well, if you actually look it up -edited- a chancre is caused by Syphilis... a common Sexually Transmitted Disease.

Wondering if Valve is aware that chancres are only caused by an STD/STI... I wonder how Necrolyte spreads them!

So Necrolyte is a dirty old man! Perhaps a pun on the Chinese nicknames for Heroes in DotA?

On that same page it also says a chancre is also formed around the area of a tsetse fly bite. Seeing as plagues are often transmitted by insects/rodents, and this guy leaves behind corpses all over the place, it's not strange to assume a massive swarm of insects chase him about wherever he goes, biting people, and spreading the parasites the tsetse flies carry.

      chancre [shang´ker]
      1. the primary lesion of syphilis, occurring at the site of entry of the infection. Called also hard, hunterian, or true chancre.
      2. a papular lesion occurring at the site of entry of infection in tuberculosis of the skin or in sporotrichosis.

I think they are referring to option 2...
