  • Feedback on a line of speech by Slardar (LEARN-tab)

Slardar: 'Too bright up here, and far too light. I long, for the pressures, of the deep'h.' but then it suddenly continues by saying 'And the subtle luminosity of the sunken world.', which I believe should be cut out of the speech entirely.

Too much trouble for such a simple thing? And it's not a bug or a problem in any way, but I.. thought it's almost like a bug, an error.

I don't know, but I kinda like it. He talks about how he "dislikes" our world and how much he wants to return home. Which fits it's place

I know all about that, he's got some incredible lines of voice acting.

But this one line of speech precisely bugs me for the sudden 2nd part that follows. Other than that it sounds great for the 1st part alone.

Think about it, it is hard for him to talk(atleast that is how it seems to me), it's like a break when he breaths in some fresh air so he can continue talking.

Yep, like "The RICHES of the DARKEST SEA ABYSSES are MINE TO PROTECT" without feeling the need for any additional breath taking, at least not so heavily.

But yeah I see your point, and even in that additional line he takes a short pause if my memory serves me right. And he does indeed speak very heavily, but a large powerful creature, large lungs, no?

ANYWAY I STILL believe that 'Too bright up here.. and far too light. I long.. for the pressures.. of the deep'h.' sounds like a complete line of speech, without the 2nd part.

Implying that most water creatures that stay under water for extremely long times (such as Slardar(If he was real)) have lungs.

            Gills, google that word.

Yeah with gills you emerge from the waters and start breathing like as if you had lungs. And vocal cords.

Yup, exactly like Riki can get invisible, Lycan can transform to wolf etc. The point is, that I think that Valve wants to make him breathe hard, because he isn't used to our world.

I'd rather not argue over the anathomy of a Slithereen, I'd just say that while this line is at least tolerable and is half(mostly)-decent, having to listen to his best death line for two months was just painful. Really, it is such a relief they finally fixed that - he used to say "It is not dead which can eternal lie" in his most epic, dying voice when selected for a very long time.
Heroes this user should seriously reconsider ever picking again.

Yeah wasn't my intention to come to argue that fishes have gills and that Slardar likes to stay under water, just the one line that sounded like.. whatever.
