  • Whats the deal with Walrus Punch!?

I'm just a little confused as to why valve bothered to record dozens upon dozens of unique-to-a-hero punch lines if Tusk just spurts them off randomly.

Like, when KOing Jakiro, wouldn't it be more appropriate for him to yell "DOUBLE DRAGON PUNCH PUNCH" instead of "OZKAVOSH PUNCH"?

Just wondering if there were plans to hook up the responses to be unique to heroes in the future.

they are hooked up on the dota2wiki already.
so they are probably already named correctly, just not hooked up yet.

edit: ok, i was mistaken about the wiki.
could have sworn, i saw hero pictures next to those punch lines (get it?).
    +1 from me then
Make sure to read the Forum Rules as well as the stickied Threads of the Forum Section you are posting in.

You weren't mistaken, they were just removed.

I hope they hook them up, it's probably the plan just han't been done yet. He's gotta say Pudge Punch to Pudge and Keen Punch to Sniper, Tinker, etc. It just doesn't make sense if he doesn't do it.

in my opinion all such information noise: stupid text "blue punch or red punch" or regarding double kills or just streaks in middleup part of the screen
are useless and makes game looks worse
its looks like implemented from the java game from my mobile phone ...
its only my private opinion - so please remember before u will start to rage and hate against me

        greeting
        p.s.
        valve please remove that s**t

We had them until we discovered that the lines aren't hooked up to specific situations. Which isn't much surprising. I imagine that hooking up every voiceline to every specific hero/set of heroes is actually quite a laborous and tedious task. Perhaps they'll link them up in the near future - similarly, Rubick didn't have all of his animations upon release either.

It was kind of weird getting "Fundamental Punch!" when I hit a Bane. I had to stop and think for a second if Bane was a fundamental or not lol

Is it intentional for him to be able to walrus punch couriers? Because I tested it in dota 2 and it works, I hope they use the line "greevil punch" for when he punches greevil couriers then if this is intentional.

It's just left unfinished, and will probably remain so until they release all heroes.

                Have fun waiting for that!
