    Not sure what you mean, are you referring to dota lore or just the russian name? Because while it's a male name in russian, it doesn't have to be russian either, yasha is also used in japanese and it's a fantasy name given to a sword anyway, not a person. Sister blades is also pretty common in fantasy settings so it makes sense to use that.

      Sange and Yasha are Japanese names, referring to a pair of weapon from Phantasy Stars universe that can be combined into the single weapon.

      As for the female pronoun, I don't have specific proof to show, but my guess is that some people just like to refers to objects as female?

      Other examples in Valve games: Sasha (and Natascha) of Heavy.
