    - Download GCFScape
    - Open <Steam installation path>\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\pak01_dir.vpk

    The music is in the sound\music directory.

        I find this usefull too, thanks! However, I would like to know, where to find unit responses, I will be glad if someone helps.

        Also... if you have DotA2 installed in different location (for example SteamLibrary folder on another partition), that's the place where you should look at if you are trying to open/locate/find pak01_dir.vpk, so the correction for the path for opening by GCFScape should be:

        - GCFScape Open -> [<Steam installation path> | <Steam Library folder with installed DotA2>]\Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\pak01_dir.vpk

            On a somewhat related note: anyone know where the captains mode hero pick music is kept? I see the short (~1 min) version along with the rest of the music but there is a version that loops and gets played when picking in captains mode.

                  I used GCFScape and when i try open valve pack file i receive this error: An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediatly.

                  Any help?

                    Are you sure you try to open the correct file? You can only open pack01_dir, which should be the last one.
